Paola Prestini & Nelson Patton – ‘Ancient City’ [Album Review]

With ‘Ancient City,’ Paola Prestini & Nelson Patton portray the atmosphere, unseen ghosts, and scattered sounds of a hoary city.

Elevator To The Gallows (1958) score was composed and performed by Miles Davis in a one session recording while he watched a screening of the film. He took notes while watching the rough cut and then invited 4 fellow musicians without preparation to record it in one go. Genius.

RIP. I got play with Otis a few times back in college when he hired my band to be his backup band. Great guy and a good singer in his own right.

Small but mighty! This is a video of a killer T cell of the immune system destroying a monstrous ovarian cancer cell. I recently captured this data on a spinning disc confocal microscope.

I don’t normally share anything personal but this my dad from a while back explaining to my daughter he signed the Beatles. Ordinary people do extraordinary things. Great decisions are made for the simplest reasons. “I figured if I like them this much other people might too” ❤️

My favorite photo from the Kind of Blue sessions has no musicians in it—just Cannonball Adderley's music stand. Here you find what's really essential for a jazz gig.
