At my age, I’ve lived through a hell of a lot of American history. The Vietnam War, the Civil Rights Movement, the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, his brother Bobby, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I watched what happened at Kent State, the taking of our hostages in Iran, the murders of my marine brother in Beirut and I remember the horror of 9/11. I’ve watched this country go through riots, assassinations, wars, and some of the darkest days in our history. And after witnessing all of that, I still raised my right hand, swore an oath, put on the uniform of a United States Marine, and served my country. I didn’t serve this nation to watch its freedoms and Constitution be destroyed by religious extremism or communism. I’ve seen too damn much, and I love this country too damn much to keep my mouth shut now. And there’s a lot of us out here just like me We wont let our country go down in flames like Europe.
