Dopplegangers: Chloris Chloris, the Eurasian Greenfinch relies on Alder tree seeds as a winter food source & Justin Vernon @boniver, Vernon meaning “place of alders”, who gave us Bon Iver, Bon Iver and I,I. All the best things are named twice.

Dopplegangers: The Mono tribe of the Sierra Nevada believed the California Condor seized humans, cut off their heads & drained their blood to flood Ground Squirrel’s home. Condor derives from the Quechua word kuntur, the first syllable of which seems particularly apt.
Dopplegangers: The excellent @guardian interview with Wreckless Eric Goulden (Goulden being a variant of golden) brought to mind the Northern Flicker, Colaptes auratus, translating as “chiseller ornamented with gold”. The O-Dopp Krü would go the whole wide world to see them both.
