Today I made two appointments to my Cabinet that I'm excited about.
Jaco Londt moves from Social Development to become our new Minister of Education. Over the past two years he launched the Cape Care Fund, expanded our GBV Ambassador Programmes, and rolled out the SWIMS app to further empower our social. I know he'll bring that same drive and energy to education.
Wendy Kaizer-Philander steps in as our new Minister of Social Development. She's no stranger to this space - she's chaired our Social Development Committee and our Child Protection Reform committee since 2018. She knows this department inside out, and she's ready to build on the work already done.
Both Ministers bring proven experience and commitment to the residents of the Western Cape. I have full faith in them to help us create more opportunity across our province.💙
