You don’t have to justify scripture to the users on this platform.
God’s word stands alone for all time.
If the options are:
A. Go to the office until all the life has been sucked out of you and miss every day of your children’s and wife’s life. And then maybe retire if the economy doesn’t burn to the ground, and if it does you will be discarded by society to live your twilight years in poverty and sickness until you finally get that sweet embrace of death.
And
B. AI solves everything and builds a literal world without disease and poverty for us but has unquantifiable chance it paper clips us all.
I’ll smash that B button so hard every time.
Hi @alexwg — a term for the singularity lexicon.
**Autoempirical data**: data from a closed-loop autonomous lab. Machine proposes the experiment, runs it, verifies the result. No human in the loop.
It isn't synthetic data. Synthetic data is a function of model parameters — it can't contain more about the world than the model already had. Autoempirical data is a fresh sample from physical reality. Same machine provenance, opposite information content.
Notation: AE(propose, execute, interpret). Most self-driving labs today are AE(0,1,0). AE(1,1,1) is the milestone worth dating.
I spotted the gap — "synthetic" is wrong for something that came from a physical experiment. Claude coined the term.

I think the worst part of the singularity is that Rick and Morty defined agents the best with Mr. Meeseeks.
I think AI doomerism is bad, but it's just so appealing.
I keep thinking about how worthless firearms will be in the future when humanoid robots come off a line at something like 2 a minute.
Enough robots that one could just follow you around and stop you from doing anything.
V14 lite is an impressive jump for me, I had a couple of disengagements because I was nervous. No v14 fault on those.
It was raining hard so I had to take over twice.
It backed out of my driveway just fine and pulled into charging spots perfectly. Had to choose another parking spot because the charger setup was a little strange.
5 hour total huge leap forward in my opinion. Very impressed.
If I can’t reply to your post, you’re muted. Why would I want to see someone’s posts that I can’t interact with?
A Christian’s take on the singularity.
Humans most likely won’t be contributing to any “work” meaningfully in less than 5 years. Most will despair at this, Christian will fair better because our identity is with Christ and not what we do for 8 hours a day.
Software is not at saturation. I think it makes sense that junior roles see a decline but the need to for experienced devs will rise.
Think of it this way the printing press made books more available, it turned books from an artisan craft to a mass produced product. More people actually ended up making book then before the printing press.
We will all be eventually automated out of jobs but maybe not right at first.
Or AI accelerates and is implemented at a super exponential pace and we’re all irrelevant faster than we think.
