Why do Republicans doom and blackpill?
Good question. Here’s my take:

The ones that are silent are the loudest in this election.
@AFPAction quoted in CNN article here:
“Billie Rajzer, an adviser to the group, told CNN that compared to the 2024 effort for Rogers, this year they’re much more focused on swing voters, with $20 million helping with an effort to knock on 1 million doors by Election Day, trying to counter the state Democratic Party’s own extensive efforts."

The debate is never about the person you’re debating. You can’t move them.
It’s about the 3rd person in the room. They can be moved. They’re not just observing your arguments, but how you conduct yourself.
Too few understand this.

Spice up the beef. Fastest one to increase homeownership by the end of the year should win a worthwhile prize.

He was here illegally, influencing American politics. I'd say he was a priority deportation.

Moreover, getting fucking deported by the government he says betrayed him by not deporting enough is infinitely funnier than anything he intentionally said or did before.

People talk about politics like it's a turn-based strategy game. Like Trump somehow wasted his turn deporting Milo instead of a Haitian or a Mexican.

Trump announced they were going to arrest illegals at airports. Milo didn’t have the papers for 7 years, and he was dumb enough to go to the airport. They’re throwing out nets randomly at airports, and he walked into it. There’s no “mildly funny once in 2017” exception in law

Embezzling over a million dollars from taxpayers isn’t a “distraction”.
A vote for @JocelynBenson is a vote for this continued corruption.

The democrats are scrutinizing the letters on notarized signatures while allowing non citizens to vote without an ID. This is third world.

As a reminder, Jocelyn Benson told clerks to assume all signatures on actual ballots valid.
She didn’t want them checking…

There’s obvious alarm in elite liberals circles about @MikeRogersForMI campaigning directly for Democrat votes – and in Detroit no less. But there’s also a stunned “deer in headlights” lack of response to it by the “HR Department”.
Republicans in Michigan have lacked innovation my entire life; quietly retreating from urban (and now suburban) political power structures, and in recent years, falling into reactionary purity spirals.
The temerity of a white male conservative walking into a Detroit suburb and simply asking for Democrat votes is a tactic they couldn’t possibly conceive of, but the real lesson in this brilliant move by Rogers is for the Right.
It’s taken Republicans far too long to try this and there’s several reasons:
It requires uncommon effort to bridge divides and seek new coalitions not already naturally inclined towards a movement, and conservatives have lazily chased populist vibes rather than expanding their movement.
Hyper-partisan grassroots activists are repulsed by the required compromises it takes to attract non-ideological or liberal voters, and are seemingly unaware of the negative polarity that invites.
And lastly, most importantly, the most frustrating to watch as a bystander. Conservative Republicans in Michigan are too strongly enthralled in loser psychology, which is to say, they’d rather die on a hill to preserve an ideological moral ground than actually win.
It took the inherent danger of European style socialism with a 3rd world flavor, and the creeping politics of resentment on behalf of downwardly mobile college educated whites filled eyebrow raising antipathy for the American founding for only one guy to figure this out?
I literally know pragmatic Democrats in Livonia looking (begging) for an alternative and embarrassed by their own cohort.
Demographic shifts are a foot, and voters are up for grabs – and another big shift is event horizon starting in about five to ten years.

Abdul El-Sayed is more crazy than common sense.
The red flags are all there:
🚩 Promises everything is going to be “free,” but somebody still gets the bill.
🚩 Offers short-term government fixes instead of creating long-term economic opportunity.
🚩 Sells bigger government as compassion, while giving government more control over your money and choices.
🚩 It can sound pretty good.
Until spending grows, taxes rise, distrust grows, and those big promises get a lot harder to deliver.
Michigan, we’ve seen these policies before.
Vote Mike Rogers for Senate. 🇺🇸

She’s not running for re-election. What’s kicking her out going to do?
Shouldn't she be kicked out of the party? Beyond absurd.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Whitsett announced in March 2026 she was leaving the Democratic Party over conflicts with her faith and would not seek reelection; she has stated she is not a Democrat.
