Chaired the first meeting of the Advisory Council of UT Ladakh, where we deliberated upon key developmental priorities including water and agricultural security, Pashmina development, sea buckthorn promotion, major infrastructure projects, tourism promotion, heritage conservation and administrative reforms among others. Along with the members, reviewed a comprehensive presentation detailing the extensive development works undertaken across Ladakh over the past seven months. Emphasized upon the urgent need for glacier protection amidst global warming, a challenge that demands collective action. Urged the council members to ideate innovative measures to strengthen Ladakh’s climate resilience, promote tourism and create new local employment avenues. Moving forward, our collective vision remains deeply focused on the holistic and responsible growth of our region. Together, we are committed to building a greener, more prosperous, and sustainable Ladakh for generations to come.

It was a privilege to inaugurate Kargil’s 1st Special School for Children with Special Needs (CWSN), today in presence of Hon’ble CEC Kargil, Dr Jaffer Akhoon @drajaffer and Hon’ble MP Ladakh, Mohd. Haneefa Jan @haneefa_jan. Aligned with the vision of #NEP2020, under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri @narendramodi ji, this institution provides a dedicated learning environment equipped with barrier-free infrastructure, therapeutic support, and trained educators to help every learner thrive with dignity and confidence. This historic milestone marks a new chapter in our journey towards inclusive, equitable, and quality education, ensuring no child is left behind. I appeal to parents, local communities, and civil society to join hands in supporting this noble initiative. Together, we can foster compassion and empower our special children to reach their full potential.

Delighted to have inaugurated the state-of-the-art Automated Driving Testing Centre (ADTC) at Kurbathang, Kargil, today in the presence of Hon’ble CEC Kargil, Dr Jaffer Akhoon @drajaffer and Hon’ble MP Ladakh, Mohd. Haneefa Jan @haneefa_jan. This landmark project aligns the Transport Department of UT Ladakh with national standards by introducing a fully automated, sensor-based, and computerised evaluation environment, for issuing Driving Licences. This facility eliminates human intervention and ensures an entirely transparent driving licence testing system. Inspired by Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri @narendramodi ji’s vision of digital governance, this initiative is a vital step toward enhancing road safety, improving driver competency, and providing faster, citizen-friendly services across Ladakh. I appeal to every citizen to treat obtaining a driving licence as a responsibility towards society, not merely a legal requirement. Even a small act of caution can save several precious lives.

Inaugurated the one of its kind Farmers’ Hostel in Kargil today, in the presence of Hon’ble CEC Kargil, Dr Jaffer Akhoon @drajaffer and Hon’ble MP Ladakh, Mohd. Haneefa Jan @haneefa_jan. This is a vital step to boost infrastructure support for our farming community. Also visited the Hi-Tech Greenhouses, where progressive farmers are successfully embracing modern techniques to maximize crop yields. Had an enriching interaction with local farmers to address their concerns and ensure sustainable agricultural development in Ladakh. To further diversify livelihoods, directed the Agriculture Department to promote scientific floriculture in the Kargil region. We will soon establish a dedicated floriculture training centre to equip farmers with advanced cultivation skills. The UT Administration remains fully committed to empowering farmers and driving rural prosperity through technology.
