It may not be the most significant change in the new guidelines for atrial fibrillation, but the shift from CHA2DS2–VASc to CHA2DS2-VA (for which they should provide the pronunciation) is interesting, also because of the rationale: 'The inclusion of gender complicates clinical practice for both healthcare professionals and patients. It also omits individuals who identify as non-binary, transgender, or are undergoing sex hormone therapy.' #ESCCongress
