Our paper is now published in Nature: "OpenSAFELY: factors associated with COVID-19 death in 17 million patients". This is by far the largest cohort study ever conducted on Covid-19. It shows the awesome power of UK NHS data, and the power of open methods

This is v sad @rossjanderson was a great battler against dangerous stupidity. His Security Engineering textbook was so readable, a hidden pop science classic. We met 3 wks ago to discuss working together with his team. He'll live on thru his work, influence and, no doubt, friends

HEALTH DATA GEEKS!
We have developed a portable language for electronic health record data preparation, to meet our needs (for our federated analyses across 58m patients' GP data!) but also to be terse, composable, readable, and.. constrained BUT flexible bennett.ox.ac.uk/blog/2023/0…

Two current solutions: 1. proactive - create a batch report looking for drugs in action group Insulin where review date is soon; 2. change insulin Px to 'use max issues' rather than review date. Set to 100 = 16 years of two monthly Px.

I think they only drop off repeat if a time limit has been set/number of issues.
Insulin should not have a limit set on repeat- perhaps that's something @emis @TPP_SystmOne can comment on?
