YouTube thumbnail cheat code 🚨
The most powerful thing in a thumbnail is often nothing
A tiny object surrounded by empty space makes people ask "what is that?"
I used this concept (negative space) to get a huge outlier for this Real Estate channel

I've helped YouTubers get outliers in so many different niches recently...
Personal Development
Real Estate
Personal Brand
Geography
And many more
Pretty cool how once you master psychology, it works in basically any niche on YouTube
Click through rate on YouTube is meaningless
My highest viewed video (3.6M) has a 2.9% CTR
Which according to “gurus” is terrible
The more impressions you get the lower your CTR will be
What’s more important is your CTR vs impressions
Look at your CTR at 1k, 10k, 100k, etc impressions and compare this from one video to the next
Most creators get this wrong about YouTube thumbnails
Call and response
The video title should open a question
And the thumbnail phrase should respond to it BUT...
It SHOULD NOT answer it
Look at this video I made
The title suggests there's a hidden reason someone's aim is bad
The thumbnail text gives an answer...but that answer is a term that 99% of people don't know (at least at the time)
The title created curiosity
The thumbnail amplified that curiosity

Advanced YouTube Thumbnail Psychology 🚨
Horizontal and vertical lines feel stable and resolved
Diagonal lines imply motion and tension. They grab viewers attention making them great for thumbnails
I used this psychology to come up with the thumbnail concept for this outlier below 👇
YouTube thumbnail cheat code 🚨
Stop copying colors and fonts from viral thumbnails.
Copy the composition SHAPE.
I saw a 17x fitness outlier. The guy's body made a triangle with the ground.
I took that same triangle and applied it to a thumbnail on my golf client's channel
It got 90K views on a channel with 34K subs
Your eye doesn't see details first. It sees shapes.
If you want to win on YouTube the majority of your time should be spent studying outliers not in your niche
I remember finding this thumbnail in Apex Legends and knew it would crush on my Call of Duty channel
Left is original, right is mine
Almost 5 years ago to the day I posted my very first YouTube video ever
Just realized it has over 300K views
Insane 🤯
YouTube Viewhack:
Novelty will go viral every time
If you can show a viewer something they’ve never seen or heard before you will get views
This is one of my favorite thumbnails I ever made
It got 1M views because it looks weird
Be different and you will win on YouTube
YouTube title hack 🚨
If you make any sort of time sensitive content this title is crushing right now
The ONLY [Topic] Video You Need to Watch in [Timeframe]
It works because you're promising the viewer every piece of critical information they need in one video
Just used it for a client to get a 1/10
YouTube views hack:
Most creators think they need to come up with brand new ideas and thumbnails every time they post
Hint...you don't
These 2 videos are nearly identical and the 2nd video got a similar amount of views as the first (750K+)
If you want to grow fast on YouTube, remix your best performing content! It's what your viewers want
