An amazing day. @NathanCassee has successfully defended his PhD thesis CUM LAUDE. At @TUeindhoven cum laude is very rare - only 5% best PhD students get this predicate and the selection goes through multiple rounds and experts. 1/…

The honour was all mine! Thanks so much @nim_gnoes_eel !
Honored to host @neilwalkinshaw at #MPI_SP (@maxplanckpress) this week for two insightful days with our Software Security group (led by @mboehme_)! His talk on "Using Causal Inference to Test Software Systems" yesterday was a highlight. Grateful for the inspiring discussions!

Exam-style knowledge benchmarks != Real-world capabilities
I mean no disrespect to any of the authors in this thread but the claims being made are wild and/or taken out of context. The AgentClinic dataset is based on an online dataset (read contamination) I helped create, from a resource aimed at helping medical students study for the Step 1 exam. For the uninitiated, the Step 1 exam is aimed at making sure pre-clinical medical students have passing knowledge of medical concepts. It is in no way a representation of any real clinical workflows. I also reviewed the AgentClinic dataset and no, we’re not even close to replacing physicians. Please let’s taper these claims. They do more harm than good.

Sixty manuscripts handled for @ieeetse as associate editor since March 2021. Now I handing over to others. Best: forced me to read research across topics. Worst: asking 16 candidates to get 3 reviews. Worrying: few manuscripts are exciting - where is innovation and relevance?
