Program hopping in HS/MS sports stalls development! Consistency not only with 1 program at a time, but 1 coach at a time will yield the benefits you are looking for. Switching programs/coaches every few months or not seeing a program through (2x wk for 12 wks is the bare minimum in the off-season), will end in athletes NOT seeing results but quick to complain when they aren't getting better. Using the example above, that's 24 workouts. How many athletes actually do 100% of a 2x/wk 12 wk program? 80%? 50%? Being in the HS/Private sector, unfortunately, the answer is extremely low among kids. Fortunately for kids...that means it's THAT much easier to get ahead. Our best kids have been consistent for YEARS. Don't be quick blame the program/coach and hop around when in reality... You just didn't hit enough sessions on a set program.
