Under the guidance of Ms. Gitika Pandey, General Manager, Eastern Railway, the commencement of Vigilance Awareness Week 2026 (26 October – 1 November) was observed with an Integrity Pledge Ceremony and a seminar on “Administrative Discretion: Balancing Rules, Conscience and Public Interest” at Eastern Railway Headquarters, Fairlie Place, Kolkata, on 26 October 2026.
Shri Sheelendra Pratap Singh, Additional General Manager, Eastern Railway, addressed the gathering, emphasising the importance of ethical conduct and integrity in public service.
Eminent speaker Hon’ble Anindo Majumdar, Retd. IAS, Member, Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Kolkata Bench, delivered an insightful address on balancing administrative rules, conscience and public interest in decision-making.
Principal Heads of Departments (PHODs) of Eastern Railway were also present on the occasion.
