Elizabeth Holmes: "I've never tried to deceive anyone." → adds Schering-Plough's logo to a report written by Theranos, inflates the conclusions, sends to Walgreens as "independent". The GSK report sent with it was altered too: criticism of the fingerprick blood draw deleted. 🙄

"Find me founders in New York who are building absurdly weird businesses" is an awesome prompt 🍀 @HappenstanceAI
Strongly held belief: New York has the best talent pool in the world. Some of you are thinking, "Over San Francisco? You're crazy." Realized this after hosting hundreds of events in NYC and spending the last year flying to SF monthly to host dinners. There's a massive difference between the talent in SF and New York. In SF, everyone seems to work in tech. Walk into one room and you're probably two degrees away from almost anyone you want to meet. Even your Uber driver might try to network with you (true story). NYC is different. We have incredible talent across tech, finance, media, art, music, fashion, and dozens of other industries. At almost every dinner I host, I meet someone who's built something remarkable I've never heard of. The problem? These people are incredibly hard to find because their networks rarely overlap. So we brute force it. People attend multiple events a day, hoping to meet the right people. I call this circuit networking. But AI is changing that. I can now organize my SF dinners from NYC with @HappenstanceAI I connect my accounts, describe exactly who I want in the room, and it searches my network and my friends' networks to find people I'd forgotten about or never knew existed. Imagine doing that across NYC's entire talent pool. Which is why I'd bet on New York for the next ten years. SF has made its talent easy to find. AI could do the same for New York.

as a runner, moving to SF meant improvising a run (as I often did in London/Santa Monica) could send me up a small mountain ... so I built: flattensf.com

it's the first thing I've built almost exclusively from my phone, via cloud session in Claude Code. it really blows my mind how much you can do away from your workstation now.

in our upcoming ISMIR paper, Learning Jazz Pianist Style with Cross-Attention Conditioning, we ask whether a transformer can learn to play in the style of twelve giants of jazz piano. here our model continues one prompt in the styles of four of my favorite pianists. sound on! 🔊

we train a transformer to play piano in the style of a given jazz pianist via cross-attention over a learned pianist embedding. my favorite result from our work: a classifier trained from scratch, only on *synthetic* generated data, IDs the pianist in 91% of *real* performances.

Finish a @meetgranola meeting and @HappenstanceAI surfaces who in your network you should connect them with. Less friction between intending to help and actually doing it, even on back-to-back meeting days :) P.S. Thank you to @AkashBajwa96 for the (intro) assist 🙏🏽
You can now connect @meetgranola to Happenstance Let your meetings start working your network for you

Visiting London and decided to ask @HappenstanceAI to search my network for Premier League ML / data folks. Our agent found @karun1710, a data scientist for Arsenal (my favorite team!). Had a great chat about data formats, kickoff strategy, xT, football org culture #COYG @Arsenal
