Wow… seriously, this new book will become a bible for #standup comedians, both, new and experienced. Very detailed, a forensic analysis of the mechanics of jokes and humour. Grab a signed copy while you can and before they end up on eBay for hundreds of pounds. 😂/🤔 #JimmyCarr
Oh… I don’t know. Is it a radio? A device for stopping dogs from barking? A pocket radio? A nail trimmer? Ahh… it’s just clickbait. How silly of me. 🙄
Let’s see if the Guardian’s review of the new book by Dame #DameJudi is as celebratory and complimentary as I hope that it will be. Looking forward to getting stuck into this lovely book. 🤩📚
Treated myself to a gorgeous #PaulSmith notebook this afternoon. Lovely textured cover, featuring his signature multicoloured stripes, bookmark, and gilt-edged pages. 🥰
An impulse buy from @Foyles this afternoon… it is signed (which is a bonus), but I vaguely remember reading good things about it. Another novel for my groaning bookshelves! 📚😲📚#FrancisSpufford #Nonesuch
Wow… the prices just keep going up and up, don’t they @marksandspencer?! These bacon ciabattas were £5 until recently and cheaper a short while before that, so this is another example of seeing how what you can get away with. 🤷🏻♂️
Quite disappointing for #DerrenBrown fans, in particular, those seeing his new West End show. He will have his own reasons and the show must be exhausting so, to be greeted with lots of programmes and tickets to sign afterwards may be daunting. After all, he’s only human. ♥️🤷🏻♂️
I felt quite ‘ seen’ walking past all of these photographers… but it was this #Halloween 🎃 spectacle that they were interested in!

SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026)
Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love.
We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we weren’t in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. “But Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to risk—getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?”. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in London’s West End and on Broadway.
America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire.
His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen.

We’ve lost one of our finest and most popular actors. Condolences to Sir Patrick’s family, friends, and colleagues. He will be greatly missed and I am sure that Sir Ian McKellen, who forged a close friendship with him, will be deeply saddened. 🌹😔
I’m late to the party… but I’m very much looking forward to watching the final episode of the current series of #SlowHorses this evening. #GaryOldman #JackLowden
Remember: always keep a pen and piece of paper close at hand… if an idea pops into your head, generally speaking, you’ve got around three minutes in which to jot it down before you forget it. 🖊️🤯
I’ll be honest… there was a time last year when I came very close to buying this beautiful #Montblanc fountain pen… but I was dismayed when I found out recently that the price had shot up by £500.
If you’re a fan of #JimmyCarr and/or interested in the science of humour and comedy (or just want to learn how to make a joke ‘land’ correctly with maximum impact), check out his new book… and if you’re quick, you can also signed copies from @Foyles @Hatchards @Waterstones 📚😆
