I was the opening act for a family of ducks.
Thank you, Berlin. What a GTC.
Europe is building its AI ecosystem and economy, from AI factories to agents to robots.
DSX POD: Vera Rubin modular factories built, cabled and tested in the factory, then delivered ready to produce intelligence.
Agents: models, harnesses, sandboxes, knowledge and tools. NVIDIA Agent Toolkit brings the pieces together so companies control what their agents know, access and do. NVIDIA OpenShell enhances safety.
Physical AI: new customers across AI-RAN, robotaxis and robotics.
Personal AI: after four years building with Microsoft, RTX Spark brings personal agents to the Windows PC.
Thank you to President @EmmanuelMacron, Prime Minister @andyburnham and Chancellor @bundeskanzler for hosting me. Great to celebrate Sferical One with Sweden’s technology leaders. And thank you to President @TokayevKZ for the warm welcome.
And to our partners and NVIDIA teams: thank you for making it happen.

Revolut founder Nik Storonsky says one of his investors tried forcing him to fire his best person:
“He was forcing me to fire my best person, because he was too hardcore.”
“Of course I didn’t fire him. I said no.”
“Pretty early on I realized that quite a few VCs, they are not very operational, and they can be actually dangerous for the company if they have enough power. So every single investment round, we just remove VCs.”
“Now I don't have any VCs on the board. I think that's the best. You always need to have operators rather than VCs on the board, people who actually build business and who know how to do things.”
Nik Storonsky is one of the most hardcore and competitive founders I’ve ever talked to. He’s the founder of Revolut, a $115 billion company, and wants to be the number one bank in 100 countries.
When someone asked Nik if he was coming for Jamie Dimon's lunch, he said “I’m coming for his dinner.”
“We want to dominate, otherwise what’s the point?”
He removed every VC from his board, and when one investor pushed him too far, he started his own fund to compete with them.
Nik has a lot of ideas on talent, product design, marketing, constraints, and what makes founder-led companies special.
This is a fascinating conversation about competition, speed, and building a machine-like company.

Bending Spoons is the most hated company in tech right now and I think they’re right
they bought Evernote, cut the free plan down to 50 notes and tripled the price
64% of downloads disappear but revenue went up 39%
one guy left a review saying “20 years of my free notes held hostage for $26 a month” 💀
bro used it for free for 20 years and he’s mad about $26
then they bought WeTransfer, which was making about $830K a month on mobile
it’s at $4.6M a month now with the same downloads
it has the same users but makes 5x the money, and everyone on the internet still calls them evil
meanwhile half the app founders on here have 50K free users, a $4.99 plan nobody upgrades to, and they’re asking how to scale TikTok ads
most tech founders know nothing about finances and charging people, they just know how to make tech
they're not making a bad product nobody wants to pay for, they're just horrible at charging people for it
put the feature people open your app for behind the paywall and double the price, the freeloaders will leave and the people who stay were your real customers all along
if your app is good enough that people would cry about losing it, charge like it

Brazil has repeatedly tried to clear out favelas and replace them with everything from middle-class neighborhoods to taxpayer-subsidized social housing.
What happens every single time is that the affordable housing projects morph back into favelas within a few years, and when the government moves people out entirely and relocates them to new neighborhoods, the relocation sites themselves eventually turn into favelas.
This has been going on since the late 1960s, yet every decade or so, government officials have this idea that favelas are just a product of poverty, when in reality they're a product of the people who live within them.
It's like that meme video we've all seen of a beaver still trying to build a dam in someone's hallway using stuffed animals and cardboard boxes. You can take a man out of the favelas, but you can't take the favela out of the man.

we're 26 years into Mac OS X, and apparently this is the first time it occurred to anyone that a root cert might require certificate revocation?
Apple has confirmed they are working on a software update for macOS to patch security issues related to the compromised eMudhra intermediate CAs
"Apple is making further changes to block these certificates in other places on Mac where software checks certificates, such as the command-line tools included with macOS or the Xcode Command Line Tools that use /etc/ssl/cert.pem. These changes will be available in a future software update, and you won't need to edit any files to get them."
