i love writing. i never let agents write for me. whether it's docs, or tweets, or shitposts, or even prompts (okay maybe that one's harder as agents manage other agents) there's a simple reason for that: i still strongly believe that writing is thinking. it's a skill i hope to never give up. it's also important to me that whatever i say is always authentic, mistakes and all. my favorite posts are the ones that i just full send without any editing i suspect it also helps with prompting. being able to clearly express what i want, and knowing the vocabulary i need to be able to direct my agents does seem to make for more effective usage of agents. in the same way that engineers have an advantage when we prompt agents to write code, because we are intimately familiar with the words that make up the discipline knowing the right word incantations to get an agent to produce a desired goal almost feels like spellcasting. as models get more capable, and that input box looks more and more like a magic box that can output anything, words become the interface between you and the genie there may come a time when we give up the keyboard in exchange for brain-computer interfaces. but until then, i'm writing every word.

I’m a competent adult. Why do I need an “AI agent” to check into a flight for me? I’m literate. Why do I need an “AI agent” to read and write emails for me? Also, I don’t get so many emails that I can’t answer them myself. The reason “no one uses AI” is that there’s no serious utility here for the vast majority of people.
This is my thesis: no one uses AI. I repeat, absolutely no one. We live in a bubble. Even among my friends who pay for it, when I ask them to open ChatGPT and show me their queries, it’s the same handful of basic things. Most don’t even know they can upload a photo and ask questions about it. Connecting Gmail so an agent can read and send emails blows their minds. An agent opening a browser and checking them into a flight? They’ve never even heard of it. The massive challenge right now is adoption, and then getting people who already signed up to actually use what they’re paying for. Most have absolutely zero clue what’s possible. Imagine the compute shortage when everyone starts using AI like the top 1% of users do today.

We've been exploring how Clerk can be distributed via the shadcn CLI. Here's a demo which: - Installs Clerk - Adds Clerk shadcn theme - Adds sign in and sign up pages - Renders user button when logged in - and supports light/dark mode
a lot of people completely missed the point of this post, and the fact that all of this is ALREADY POSSIBLE with @shadcn registry schema, we've just been using it to scaffold frontend components - i am not talking about a new auth library - i am not talking about a new billing library - i am not talking about any AI feature i am talking about standardizing, and adopting a distribution system using the shadcn/ui registry examples: `npx shadcn @stripe /schema.json` `npx shadcn @clerk /schema.json` `npx shadcn @convex /schema.json` `npx shadcn @polar_sh /schema.json` `npx shadcn @better_auth /schema.json` it is up to @shadcn and @vercel team to make this as easier as possible to do, but up to us and various other products to adopt this!
