One of the reasons I got into tech and remote work was to not let location hinder the progress of my wife’s career
And she knows
She can choose to build a career anywhere and my work will not hold me back
I would just have to pack my bags and follow her 😍

There is one biblical concept that changed my relationship with sin forever. I’ve never been the same.
The concept is that we, as Christians, are judged differently by God depending on our knowledge & understanding of the Word and God’s nature. The closer you get to God, the more He expects of you.
When you accept this as reality, the wages of engaging in casual sin go WAY up. The past two years are honestly the first time in my life where I have felt the FEAR of God.
I fear disappointing the Father - but also His WRATH. If I fully understand the gospel and God has revealed truth to me, and yet I continue to stay in habitual sin, then as Romans 1 says, I am “without excuse.”
God is love. But God is also wrath.
When I say “judged” in this sense, I’m not referring to salvation. I am still a sinner and need daily repentance. However, the Lord disciplines the children he loves - just as we discipline our kids.
And wouldn’t your punishment for your 16 year old who got arrested for a DUI more harshly than your 3-year-old who broke a plate?
Because the 16 year old knew better.
I know better now.
I’m grateful for this - but it also feels heavy sometimes.
Here’s Roman’s 1: 18-27 that explains this well:
“The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.
For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.
Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.
Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.
They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones.
In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.”

Heavenly Father,
On this sacred day, we remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross.
Thank You for Your great love and mercy.
Lord Jesus,
You bore our sins and suffered for our salvation.
Help us to understand Your sacrifice and walk in Your truth.
Forgive our sins,
Fill our hearts with humility, love, and grace.
Teach us to forgive others as You forgave us.
On this Good Friday,
May we draw closer to You and live a life that honors Your sacrifice.
Amen. 🙏

I've told this story before, but it bears repeating:
Summer of 2024. I was considering turning to God.
Driving down the road, I stopped at a long traffic light, deep in thought about what we had discussed. I wondered, among many other things, why God didn't make Himself more apparent to us.
On the sidewalk next to me, a street preacher suddenly walked up and started preaching.
It was nothing groundbreaking. He said that Jesus loved us, that He wants us to believe and turn to Him, that the consequences of our decisions were eternal. Standard street preacher talking points.
He sounded like he had said what he was saying many, many times. Like he was doing it because he knew he was supposed to. It was hardly his most enthusiastic moment.
But here I was, wondering why Jesus didn't tell me things, and suddenly someone started telling me with a megaphone, a few feet from my car, that He loved me and wanted me to turn to Him.
I believe that God had answered me.
That street preacher may never know how much God used Him in that very moment. But he obviously knew he was supposed to be doing it, as he had done so many times before. And he has remained faithful to it.
When you share the Gospel, when you help someone in need, when you pray for someone, when you reflect God's love in the way you treat your spouse and children, when you demonstrate what it means to be a Christian, God is working through you.
You may never know how many people join His family, or remain in it, as a result of your actions. But rest assured, He's using you to build His Kingdom.
Keep going.
In the middle of the night, there was a pastor in Chicago who was awakened from his sleep. He heard the Holy Ghost tell him to go down to the Chicago train station and preach the Gospel. He thought to himself, “that’s silly. Why would God ask me to do that?” So he rolled over and went back to sleep. The same thing happened again, and then a third time, until finally the man gave in and drove to the train station.
When he arrived no one was there, but he was obedient and preached a basic Gospel message and even gave an altar call even though it seemed no one was even listening. Afterwards, he went home.
Years later that same pastor went to a Billy Sunday meeting where the great evangelist gave his testimony of how he received salvation. He said, “I was down at the Chicago train station, and there was a man preaching the Gospel, and even though I couldn’t see him nor did I know where the voice was coming from, he led me to the Lord that night!” Billy Sunday reached millions of people with the Gospel through his ministry.
