I didn't see how disastrous it'd be for Eby, but a month ago, it sure felt like he'd made a big mistake. #bcpoli

Congrats from Down Under to @LDoerkson for his big big win - and to his campaign manager @katy_merrifield and her team! Now the hard work begins. #bcpoli #cdnpoli

What a beautiful result. A man who didn't see himself as Premier a little over a month ago has been overwhelmingly elected by the people to lead their province. He stepped up and hit a home run on the first try! Congratulations, Premier!
Tonight, British Columbians chose a new direction. We’re doing this for our sons and daughters. For the future they deserve and the province we owe them. Thank you, British Columbia, I won’t let you down.

I’m thankful to the people of Kelowna-Mission for renewing their trust in me with a strong mandate. To my family, volunteers, supporters, and everyone who helped our campaign, I’m deeply grateful. I also want to acknowledge my local opponents for their willingness to serve the community we all care about deeply. I’m hopeful about what comes next. Lorne Doerkson has stepped up with strong leadership for serious times, and I’m proud to be part of a great Conservative team from all over BC. Whether they won or fell short, each and every one of our candidates is part of this big blue win. We have a generational opportunity to reignite the spirit of enterprise, restore confidence in our future, and make life better for people and families - and we are ready to get to work. #bcpoli

A more appropriate headline: "Peaceful Paris Protesters forced to light fires to keep warm" ⬇️⬇️⬇️
Literally thought this was an Onion or @TheBabylonBee parody. But nope, it’s the BBC engaged in self-parody yet again.

COLUMN: Mark Carney’s selective morality on human rights If the PM is going to keep gallivanting around the world making trade deals with the world’s worst dictatorships and downplaying their atrocities, could he please stop lecturing Israel about human rights?torontosun.com/opinion/colum…

Same day. Same country. Different headlines. One side: "Exceptional partner." The other side: "Journalism is not a crime."

Brad Bradford wants to be mayor for all Torontonians. He aims to fix transit, improve housing, and keep residents safe. Olivia Chow wants to use the mayor’s office to engage in global conflicts and foreign affairs (a federal matter), divide Torontonians (a moral matter), and virtue-signal (a pointless matter). Toronto voters should elect the person who actually wants to be the city’s mayor: to fix its problems, make it a better place to live and to unite the city. Enough division. Enough talk. Vote Brad Bradford. Olivia out!
Lots of support at Islamic Foundation of Toronto yesterday for re-electing @oliviachow as Mayor of Toronto, and appreciation for her recognition of the genocide taking place in Gaza. We spoke about Olivia's plans to keep investing in the TTC, strengthen and support our public

As a "middle power," the Prime Minister famously said that "if we're not at the table, we're on the menu." He never mentioned anything about dining with every asshole who invited us.

Huge statement for the Toronto Star to not endorse the sitting Mayor. When that paper has seen 3 1/2 years of Olivia Chow, & simply cannot advocate for 4 more of them - it’s quite an indictment. GO VOTE MONDAY. thestar.com/opinion/editoria…

Fine. Except unless things have changed, private security have essentially zero ability to protect property or persons in France. Their role is to watch then to call police if something happens. They can prevent someone from entering a door by securing it but what happens if people break down the door or break windows? They are basically door men. They watch and provide a visible deterrent but can't do anything if anyone is determined to break-in besides call the police who say they will be overwhelmed. ⬇️⬇️⬇️
The Paris police have advised shopkeepers to hire private security ahead of tomorrow’s large street protests and expected looting. They say they can’t be everywhere
