Literally what the fuck
When researchers analyzed how Pegasus spyware infected iPhones without the user tapping anything, they found something wild. The attackers sent an iMessage with a fake GIF that targeted Apple's image decompression engine. The decompression math was so flexible that the exploit chained arithmetic operations together to construct a literal, functioning software CPU using over 70,000 segment commands that defined logical bit operations (AND, OR, XOR, XNOR, etc.) entirely inside the image parser. This created a small computer architecture with registers, a full 64-bit adder, and a comparator, running raw code before the phone even buzzed with a notification

Color me surprised
1. More billionaires are associated with less poverty.
2. Increasing billionaires per capita by ten fold lowers poverty by 43 percentage points.
3. Sweden has more billionaires per 10M people than the U.S. (34 vs 30)
4. Correlation is fairly strong (R-squared of 0.6 for two variable cross-section data)
4. Since the graph is only a correlation, what do you think is the cause?

THE FIGHT AGAINST DAC8 BEGAN IN FRANCE.
IT IS NOW SPREADING ACROSS EUROPE.
Bull Bitcoin opened the first front in France, where it is challenging the decree that transposes DAC8 into French law before the Conseil d’État, the country’s highest administrative court, and asking for the directive itself to be referred to the EU Court of Justice.
@bitcoin_at has now opened the second front in Austria: at its initiative, attorney Dr. Oliver Völkel (CERHA HEMPEL) has filed a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority.
The case is set to go through the Federal Administrative Court to the Constitutional Court, and from there potentially to the EU Court of Justice, the same road that brought down EU data retention in 2014.
As a non-profit association backed by local industry actors, Bitcoin Austria puts its time, effort, and reputation on the line for every Bitcoin (and crypto) user in Europe. This work deserves the respect of the entire industry.
Because DAC8 has been transposed in all 27 Member States, it can be challenged in every one of them, and with two fronts now open, 25 remain.
We invite associations, lawyers and industry players to bring this fight to their own country and to join the European front. More information below 👇
LLMception
1/3
A CPU inside an LLM is one thing, but running another LLM inside an LLM would be taking things a bit too far, wouldn't it?
Anyways, here's an LLM running inside an LLM : QwenPU, an LLM (@karpathy's stories260k) running on an NPU compiled inside Qwen 3.5-4B's weights.

basically this
The White underclass is a miracle, and probably why the West has succeeded.
Thomas Frank wrote “What’s the Matter with Kansas” to explore why poor Whites don’t vote for socialist policies that would (narrowly, in the short-term) benefit them. Of course he concluded it was about racism, as he was predetermined to do by his ideology.
But I actually think he highlighted an incredibly important fact: poor White Americans, uniquely among underclasses globally, don’t vote for socialism.
The typical dynamic is rich people trying to keep what they have and poor people trying to take it. But the American lower-class White does not behave this way, because he has a deontological aversion to government interference. The collection of attitudes and beliefs described as “rugged individualism” are often assessed in terms of how they impact the individual, but I think it’s much more important to consider how they impact a nation.
(White) America has the world’s least resentful or grasping underclass. This is a treasure. They should be preserved and rewarded. Many might be net-negative fiscally in a narrow sense, but they are hugely net-positive if you consider their votes. Trump famously said “I love the poorly educated.” He was right to say this. Every nation has an elite. No other nation has such a high quality of virtuous common people.
Sad but true
Europe is so cooked and it’s 100% the responsibility of its incompetent politicians.
- regulated AI before having AI
- energy cost highest in the world, you wouldn’t train a model there
- France soon taxes internet traffic
- Germany wants to tax AI revenue
- not a single significant frontier lab, Mistral is a larp
- those AI companies that Europe has are betting on regulatory moat, not on technical innovation, like GDPR-compliant AI, how inspiring
Europe has some of the smartest researchers in the world. Every person who wants to innovate moves away as soon as they’re out of university so they can focus on building instead of dealing with this bullshit. It’s a literal giga brain drain.
Boomer politicians have already destroyed the tech sector. They’ve messed up the internet boom, then the smart phone boom, now they’re doing it with AI.
And they’re proud about it, you can’t make this shit up.
What a travesty.
Great advice by Beau
5 ways to improve your OPSEC in a couple hours this weekend:
- buy @Yubico’s Yubikeys to replace insecure 2FA
- sign up for @optery to have your personal info removed from data broker sites (I also have a discount code for anyone who wants it)
- set up a new Gmail that isn’t tied to your name or shared with anyone. Use this email for your banking, CEX accounts, password manager etc
- get a virtual mailbox set up to receive packages and mail somewhere other than at home
- set up a 2nd phone number just to have on accounts where you can’t get rid of SMS 2FA (like your Apple ID)
Any one of these things will measurably improve your personal security and they all can get knocked out in a couple hours
You could bookmark this and do one task each weekend through November and be in great shape. Don’t be overwhelmed, just get started!
Spending 2-3 hours today on these could save your entire net worth
Accounts
1. Check if your emails have been leaked in a data breach haveibeenpwned.com. Change every leaked password first
2. Use a separate and non public email for CEXes, banks, social media. Don't open links on email
3. Use a password manager like @Bitwarden. Unique password for every account with 2FA and passkeys enabled (save passkeys in Bitwarden)
4. Stop using SMS 2FA. YubiKey or authenticator app only
5. Write down all your backup codes on paper, store it somewhere safe (fireproof and waterproof)
6. Bookmark every exchange and dApp websites. Never open them from Google or Telegram links
Telegram
9. Under Privacy, turn on Two-Step Verification (its a password), use Passkey and set Stars for Messages so random people cannot DM you
10. Check Active Sessions and delete anything you don't recognise
11. Set your phone number to Nobody
12. Never open files people send you, even from friends. Their account could be hacked
13. Ignore any "free to catch up" with Calendly links, you can catch up over Telegram message itself
14. Disable Auto-Download Media (under Data and Storage)
Wallets
15. Seed phrase on paper or metal. Never in a notes app or cloud or Notion
16. Cold wallets for large funds, best to use a multisig with cold wallets (p.s best to offramp more into your bank so you can sleep at night)
17. Split wallets to mitigate single attack vector: small hot wallet for dApps, cold wallet for the rest
19. Revoke old unlimited approvals (revoke.cash/)
Devices (Mac checklist mac.0xosprey.com by @0x_Osprey)
20. FileVault + firewall on, auto login off
21. Auto updates on
22. Delete browser extensions you don't use
23. Separate browser (or device) just for crypto
24. Never run a recruiter's "coding challenge" especially if its something to install
Misc
25. Don't use Zoom or Microsoft teams if you have to take a call
26. Remember you are not a VIP, no journalist is going to want to interview you for your takes nor will companies send you emails / letters to warn you of a compromised account
27. Some of the contacts that you saved on Telegram could be compromised, saving as contact doesn't do anything
28. Take note of some of the trading terminals that you have funds on, if the largest exchange can be compromised what more these smaller ones
29. Write a plan for if you get hacked, and leave one for your family
30. Remember to message @seal_911_bot if you have any emergencies @_SEAL_Org
Stay paranoid.
taxing people 10€ for downloading a game they already bought is unhinged behavior
Rendement attendu : 5 à 10 milliards par an.
