Here's a simpler way to explain this: As populations get older, countries have more retirees and fewer working people. This means governments need to spend more money (on things like Social Security and Medicare) while collecting less in taxes. To keep their economies growing, they have to borrow massive amounts of money. When a country owes more money than its entire economy produces in a year (over 100% of GDP), it can't generate enough real economic activity to pay back what it owes. So instead of earning the money, the government essentially creates new money out of thin air through the Federal Reserve. Banks are also required by law to hold some of this debt. Creating all this new money dilutes the value of existing dollars - imagine adding water to orange juice. Everything becomes more expensive over time, which is like a hidden tax on everyone who holds dollars. This makes assets that can't be easily created (like real estate, stocks, or Bitcoin) appear more valuable in dollar terms. Bitcoin has a fixed supply that can't be increased, unlike dollars. So when the dollar loses value at roughly 8% per year due to money printing, Bitcoin not only protects against that loss but often gains additional value as more people adopt it. This whole cycle started because we have aging populations - more older people relying on government benefits and fewer young workers supporting them. It's fundamentally a demographic math problem that drives everything else.
