I understand the rationale for DAZN wanting to consolidate everything under one banner. Make the brand simpler, consolidate advertising spend and make Kayo synonymous with sports coverage all make sense. But feels like they’re sacrificing decades of brand equity in the process

Like Fox Footy, Fox Cricket and Fox League have built distinct identities around premium sports coverage vs Kayo, which is more strongly associated with its streaming service - and not necessarily for the right reasons…

Kayo is the platform and Fox Footy/League/Cricket is the product. There’s a difference between where people watch sport and the brand they’ve come to associate with the coverage, on air talent, analysis etc. Surely there’s a way to build Kayo without throwing away that equity?
