I rebuilt my portfolio: what I've shipped, micro-interactions I've tinkered with, things I've figured out, and my episode on @SamuelAyo__'s podcast. All in one place.

Designing my brother's portfolio was so much fun. Check it outtt ebuka.marketing/ ❤️😌
I've never had a proper portfolio. I've done amazing, amazing work, but I struggled to document it for the longest time. Seven years in marketing across graphics design, video editing and social media management, before settling for performance marketing. Here is my portfolio: ebuka.marketing/ I decided to highlight three jobs that show my dexterity across tech, e-commerce and lead gen. This body of work was put together by one of the best designers I know, @IchekeChinaza, and built by my baby brother, @dev_rhema. Special shoutout to Josiah and Enzu for back end confirmations and copy checks. After looking at the portfolio, you can check out the error 404 game we also built. Here ebuka.marketing/whatever

if you don't have the benefit of having worked at a startup that has high brand equity you should 1. Have an extremely active github 2. Have an excellent personal site 3. Sweat out the details on your Linkedin - this is unfortunately but ultimately where everyone clicks to. Nobody reads resumes im ngl they just go to your linkedin to look for shiny stuff and if it looks like shit they will close you out (they are your user and it is your job to convert them and if you can't do that then you have no product sense) 4. Share high quality work over and over and over again on social platforms 5. Figure out how to convert attention into a job (conversion on interviews e.g. you can communicate, you research the company & interviewer, you don't choke on technicals or sys design interviews)
if you wanna get a top tech job, you gotta rizz the recruiter with your github

I promised to give you all a rundown on how I make these videos. There's no After Effects project behind it. Every frame is code: TypeScript, a browser and a timeline. Here's how it's made 🧵

Made a little update to the intro section ✨ Hover a company and a note slides into the margin with my role, the dates and what the company does. Move to the next one and the same note glides along with you. I tried seven other versions before this one using @emilkowalski's /prototype skill, including a spotlight that dimmed the rest of the intro, an animated underline and a screenshot preview. egdiala.dev

Today is my last day at @moniepoint. I’ve made the decision to dedicate my time fully to building @pewbeam_ai. I believe deeply in what we’re building and its potential to shape the kind of future I want to live in, and I’m excited to give it my undivided attention. It has been a privilege to contribute to Moniepoint’s mission of providing financial happiness for every African. As a Product Designer on the Cards team, I had the opportunity to contribute to improving the product’s user experience and design, helping make it more intuitive and useful for the people who rely on it. I’m grateful to everyone I had the opportunity to work with. I’ve learned a great deal from the people around me, and I know those lessons will serve me well as I enter this next chapter. Now, it’s time to build 🚀

I designed all of these landing pages in the last two months, using @higgsfield , Claude, and Cursor with my custom AI designer skill. The skill is open source: github.com/elayadesign/ai-de…

AI is changing how we design, but where do we draw the line between what we let AI do and what we should do ourselves? Had an interesting conversation with @elitethedev on Code & Canvas about AI, creativity, and ownership. open.spotify.com/episode/5vJ…

iPhone Duo is here! Excited to have worked on the design of our open/close transition. It’s designed to make the two displays feel like one seamless experience by perceptually bending the focal plane, not the content, so that it feels like opening a window onto a singular view.

A good day to remind you all that failure is a part of the journey: ayomideoyekanmi.medium.com/o….
Back in 2021 I interviewed at Vercel and I failed badly. I couldn’t implement a debounce function and was stuck for like 30 minutes. It was pretty embarrassing. 10 months later (2022) I interviewed again and got the job. Don’t give up!
