Applying 2,4-D in a mix with gly can elevate aldo-keto reductase (AKR) enzyme activity in ryegrass. It also turns out metabolism-based resistance to glyphosate is caused by AKR. This could explain poor ryegrass control where 2,4-D is mixed with gly. Work by Feng-Yan Zhou & AHRI.

Update from 23rd Jan re data from @cropscan protein meter. Processing was done by @data_farming that confirmed grower suspicions of low protein in areas of low yield. Targeted soil testing now done by agro to ground truth in prep for next crop. NB: Blue = high, Red = Low

As its been recently discussed on Twitter , I have tested Clethodim vs adjuvants. In the photo, left is Clethodim (no adjuvant), middle a research adjuvant (poor) and right Hasten. Without an adjuvant, expect virtually no activity from Clethodim and possible other DIMs.
High: Wheat on Chickpea. Medium: Wheat on Canola.
Low: Wheat on Wheat.
All planted at the same time. YLS & Nitrogen 😳

Another paraquat resistant ryegrass population from a cropping paddock in SW-Victoria. This one survived 2L/ha paraquat in our pot trial. We re-sprayed with another 2L and the photo shows the recovery. Spraying large populations with paraquat only is risky.
