🌳 Street Tree Care Event
When I served on the City Council, I met my goal of planting 1,000 new street trees across District 3 and introduced New York City’s first Urban Forest Master Plan.
I also launched the Green the In-Between Fund to bring even more trees to neighborhoods that need them most.
Street trees clean our air, cool our streets, reduce flooding, support native wildlife, and improve public health.
Join me, Assemblymember @LindaBRosenthal, and the Lower East Side Ecology Center to care for our neighborhood trees!

When people think about biodiversity, Manhattan probably isn’t the first place that comes to mind. But cities have a critical role to play in addressing the global biodiversity crisis. 🌳🌎
Protecting biodiversity isn’t just about preserving distant rainforests and wilderness areas. It’s also about transforming the places where billions of people already live.

This year, our Senate Democratic Majority passed Francesco’s Law, sponsored by Senator @ebottcher , to modernize New York’s safe-storage laws by requiring all gun owners to securely store their guns when they are not being used or carried. The bill was recently signed into law.
Last night was an incredibly emotional and meaningful evening as we celebrated @GovKathyHochul signing Francesco’s Law into law.
I was deeply honored to be recognized alongside my Assembly co-sponsor, Khaleel Anderson, by @NYAGV1 for our work to pass this landmark legislation.
Thank you to Rebecca Fischer and the entire team at New Yorkers Against Gun Violence for this tremendous honor and for your tireless advocacy. Thank you to Governor Hochul for her leadership, Senate Majority Leader @AndreaSCousins, and the countless advocates
