Morning David Lammy! Could we please open and pay for these 63 closed courtrooms and hold rape trials in them? Instead of restricting jury trial for thousands of people? If not, why not?
📈Today, 10 December 2025, 63 out of the 516 Crown courtrooms in England & Wales will not be sitting. That's 12% of them. #courtstats #CS10122025 courtstats.co.uk

Here is a list of reasons why some of my hearings and trials this year have been delayed and kicked off into the long grass, stuck in our record court backlog. Serious allegations which will now be tried *years* after the event. 🧵👇

A fantastic evening at the @Amicus_ALJ Champions of Justice Awards celebrating our contributors and raising money for the continued fight for due process and equal access to justice on death row in the USA. Thank you to everyone who continues to support Amicus!

Pint of lime and soda in London is £3.50 if you’re lucky. Pint of lime and soda in Sydney is free. Reason #104 why I’m moving here.

Australia allows my low-level chaos to masquerade as efficiency… drop off hire car at 08:28, through security at 08:32, board flight at 09:00. Bish bash bosh 💁🏻‍♀️

Thrilled to find out it’s apparently quite easy to move to Australia…

Lovely to catch up with @Amicus_ALJ last week and wishing everyone a wonderful weekend of Amicus training this weekend. Working with Amicus gave me so many transferable skills for a career at the Criminal Bar; anyone considering either please do reach out with any questions!

Almost 3 years to the day since I undertook my first ever mini-pupillage, which was with @DrystoneCrime, I am delighted to have accepted an offer of tenancy with them. My sincere gratitude to everyone who has supported and championed me along the way 🙏 #criminalbar #tenancy

Final week of pupillage has arrived and it’s suitably glorious. I can’t believe how much the time has flown by. For anyone starting next week, feel free to get in touch with any questions!

I think my biggest piece of advice to incoming #pupils, especially #criminalpupils, is to make sure you make the time to keep doing things for yourself. It’s the best job in the world, but it’s hard. So look after yourselves! Here is me trying to take my own advice 🚴🏼‍♀️☀️

One of my all-time favorite type of videos is pre-fame bands playing their extremely famous songs to a tiny room of people, because they're not yet known. A thread of some examples: Bastille playing Pompeii in what looks like someone's living room:

I’ve navigated my way solo around China, South Korea and Vietnam. I have lived abroad and never missed a flight. And yet at St Pancras, following signs in my native English, I still manage to board the wrong Eurostar going to the wrong country and city. Pretty impressive I think.

There’s nothing like a post-work evening run through the city 🏃🏻‍♀️. Sometimes you have to remember to stop and take it all in 🌆.
