What an amazing night we had earlier this month celebrating 10 years of Ed Forward DC! Thank you to all the supporters, partners, grantees, city leaders, board members, and team alums who joined us and for everything you've done to advance great public schools for every DC student!

ALT A lively gathering of people at a networking event, featuring small groups in conversation. Attendees are dressed in business casual attire, mingling in a warmly lit indoor space with promotional posters and banners visible. Tables with refreshments are set up along the sides, creating a welcoming atmosphere for social interaction.

The path to graduation should prepare students for more than a diploma - it should prepare them for what comes next.
With new graduation requirements approved by @DCSBOE, #DC students will see changes to the high school experience, including a greater focus on real-world skills and more flexibility in how they earn credits.
More pathways. More practical skills. More possibilities.🎓

25 years later, we remember the lives, the families, and the futures forever changed by #9/11.
And here in #DC, we remember six of our own: students Asia Cottom, Bernard Brown, and Rodney Dickens, and teachers Hilda Taylor, Sarah Clark, and James Debeuneure.
Forever in our hearts. Forever part of our city’s story.🤍

"Achievement gaps narrowed and student poverty is less predictive of school performance in math and reading. In fact, the correlation between socioeconomic status of a school’s student body and its proficiency rate is the lowest in DC state test history. Yet, differences in performance between student groups remain stark, requiring continued urgency from adults and focus on equitable distribution of resources to support priority student groups."
