Good progress today! @omarchy now boots from disk on my MacBook Pro 14" M5 Max. Working: all 18 cores, internal display with brightness keys, keyboard + backlight, trackpad, Wi-Fi incl. 6 GHz, Bluetooth, speakers + mic, battery, lid, power off, USB-C. Next: continue GPU and sleep optimisation.
@dhh some good progress above. It may sound like a brag, but I am quite happy with it. PRs also open, looking for feedback.

Deep sleep update:
0.05 W averaged over a 3-hour sleep, nearly 10x less than Linux s2idle (0.44 W) on M1 Air
Just booted @omarchy from its own disk for the first time on M5 Max (for me at least).
This is awesome! It's the single feature I miss a lot from Linux given that my phone is and likely be iPhone due to communication with my parents.

Minutes after me going to bed my agents stopped again, even though I specifically asked them to keep going.
By agents I mean various Claude versions. Anyone have a way to make them work while not watching what they do? I find that any combination of effort or ultracode gets me here.

Open-source can be something very different with careful use of AI. The amount of complexity a few coordinating sessions can handle together is extreme.
On my side what works on the M5 Max 14: nvme, all cpu cores, wifi/wifi 6GHz, bluetooth, useb2 sometimes 3, sleep, battery, backlit, PMP powered.
DCP, GPU in progress.
Lots of GPU cores helps a lot. But as soon as you start playing a YouTube video, you realize you that GPU.
I gave them a microphone to listen to the built in speakers while I sleep and they work. Let’s see how that goes.
I told them I will check on them randomly.
This didn't go as planned: as soon as I left the computer, the orchestrator and the other idiots all stopped and declared the work done for the night.
I caught them in the act, so now they need to keep going.
Going to bed soon. I am leaving the team hack on the M5 Max wifi and sound, hopefully they get it done by morning.
At some point @dhh mentioned that he made the screen controls work from Omarchy, that they just worked since then.
Doing some kernel work for a couple weeks to get Omarchy working on my M5 Max.
"Just works" pretty much hides an infinite level of complexity in actual code, and trials, and tests, and looots of time.
Happy he gave me the bug.
There are so many parallels between @magyarpeterMP and @jamestalarico in values, is plans for how to improve politics, taxation, how to make their fellow citizens to live a better life.
None of the two want to stay in their positions for long term, they both want others to take their place.
They are also fairly close in age as well, maybe that's a reason.
Their timing is also similar, thousands of kilometers away from each other.
I find this very interesting but most importantly, very hopeful.
