Looks like colleges actually CAN lower prices. New data show students are paying less, on average, than a decade ago. Committee Republicans will keep pushing for lower costs, greater accountability, and better outcomes. Read more from @washingtonpost ⬇️ washingtonpost.com/education…

Sports gambling is easier than ever for college students. But what starts as a small bet can lead to debt, addiction, and trouble in school. On November 11, the Subcommittee on Higher Education and Workforce Development will examine the risks of sports gambling and what colleges can do to help students.

Schools need to get back to basics. Students should focus on reading, writing, and math. Parents belong in the driver's seat. It's that simple.

I recently had the opportunity to tour Classic Turning in Jackson, which supports many industries through precision manufacturing. Michigan has the skilled workforce and manufacturing expertise that America needs to lead the next generation of domestic manufacturing. I have been fighting to bring back domestic manufacturing production, so we can create more good-paying jobs, strengthen our economy, and protect the future of American industry.

A four-year college degree is not the only path to a successful career. We need to expand opportunities for Americans to learn skilled trades, earn industry-recognized credentials, and get the training they need to succeed in good-paying jobs. As a member of the Education and Workforce Committee, I’m working to make sure our education and workforce policies actually prepare Americans for the jobs our economy needs.

119th Congress Committee Wins: Cracking Down on Fraud 🔍 Every dollar lost to fraud is a dollar taken away from the Americans these programs were created to serve. Committee Republicans passed 12 bills out of Committee to combat fraud in federal student aid, child care, and workers’ compensation programs—with each passing the House within a package of three bills. From ghost students to child care scams and fraudulent providers, Committee Republicans are working to protect taxpayer dollars and hold bad actors accountable. Taxpayer dollars should help Americans in need—not line the pockets of fraudsters.
