Medical care India indeed has best of two worlds for the fortunate. Modern medicine and radiology in the hands of capable doctors on one hand, and a respectful attitude steeped in atiti devo bhava culture, particularly towards elderly people (1/4)

After the Biden era, Americans wanted an economy that worked for them. Instead, they received a hastily executed war, headline after headline of scandals, a ballooning $40 trillion debt, and unpredictable tariffs.
It’s time for Republicans to return to the principled conservative values that once defined us—and that we've steadily abandoned over the last decade.

This is the kind of night that changes the direction of the country and forces an entire party to completely reevaluate itself if it wants to survive.

Well, I guess that's why I always stick with publishing what we have. Our final poll, published last week, was D+11, and...that's what it looks like is happening right now 🫡
Some thoughts on our final poll, which has D+11 with likely voters.
Under the hood, it doesn't look that blue. Party ID is D+4 with leaners, and R+1 without. Rs still hold advantages on crime/immigration. Dems winning by 11 *despite this* is the kicker.

If the Democrats take Congress - as polls suggest - I hope they actually strive to be more responsible on safeguarding norms and governing responsibly. Rather than spend years saying "Trump broke things, so we can too"

Q: Are you the one who’s going to turn Texas blue?
@JamesTalarico: I’m not interested in turning Texas blue. I wanna win this seat so that I can fight for all 31 million Texans — whether they’re Democrats, independents, or Republicans.
My party talks about turning Texas blue a lot. Republicans talk about keeping Texas red. I think the best color for Texas is purple.
When you have a purple state and competitive elections, it forces every politician in both parties to stay on their toes. My hope in this race is that we can end 30 years of one-party rule and get competitive elections back in Texas so politicians are actually solving problems.

We saw the Young Turks ad, and we have a few things to say.
First, blaming the cost of groceries on aid to Israel is an egregious distortion of how the federal budget works.
Second, it’s cynical to pin this ad on El-Sayed when his campaign had nothing to do with it – or to inflate the controversy for political gain when the ad itself was made in 2024 and has next to no real promotional budget behind it.
Third, and most importantly, Michigan voters deserve an honest conversation about rising costs and an honest conversation about US policy towards the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. They don't need misleading ads that exploit very real economic frustrations to push dishonest messaging about the US-Israel relationship, or fake controversies about those ads. nytimes.com/2026/10/26/us/mi…

The lesson here is that when you have large amounts of WindWaterSolar (mostly wind, solar but also geothermal, and existing hydro) on a grid, you
--match demand with supply better than a base load plant and
-- provide base-load electricity that can exceed that of the base-load plant.
The claim nuclear is more reliable than renewables is a myth.
WindWaterSolar has not only met a higher percent (12.8%) of demand during its worst 5 minutes in all of 2026 than nuclear during its best 5 minutes (12.0%), but has also met seasonal & daily demand better than nuclear from 2023-26 on the @CaliforniaISO grid.
WWS output (left) is predictably consistent all year, peaking in early summer close to demand (late summer)
Nuclear output is flat most of the year (not following demand). The rest of the year (1-2 months), it decreases by 50%.
P.S., WWS' peak 5-minute output in 2026 is 165% of demand, or 13.75 times that of nuclear's peak output vs demand (12.0%).

It’s rare to be given a second chance this quickly in politics. Exceedingly rare.
From the celebratory dancing it’s clear no one has learned the obvious lesson from 2024.
The Latino political class is so far behind the Latino working class.

Ohio Republican Gov. Mike DeWine on Vivek Ramaswamy's attack ad featuring Amy Acton's estranged and abusive mother:
“The ad, on its face is, deeply, deeply troubling. But when you know the rest of the story, when you know the backstory, when you know that the husband of the mom was indicted by a grand jury after hearing testimony, and then he took off along with the mother. When you know that, it just... makes it more serious. It makes it just more wrong. So it's wrong to run this... I would just urge the Ramaswamy campaign to take this down."
