1) I got to slow dance with @dfarrah426 at our middle kid’s marriage reception Saturday night. It may not sound like much, but I was mostly wheelchair bound from January until just a few weeks ago. Combine that with the bad scan results I just got & I tried to savor every second.
Happy #NationalDogDay, here are a few pics of our furry son Miles.

I am dedicating every tackle and turnover I make this season to raise money for Maddox Potter, a 16 y/o from WV with stage four cancer.
Please pledge a donation for every tackle or turnover I make this season to help Maddox beat cancer!!! #HailWV 💙💛

Please think of us tomorrow morning. We have some extremely tough decisions to make. Unfortunately, it may be months before we’ll know if we made a good decision. #ColorectalCancer

There is so much courage in oncology, not just in patients who weigh the risk/benefit of chemo & proceed after informed consent, but also in those who decide to focus exclusively on quality of life

My boy Miles, my unofficial emotional support pup. Miles helps me to deal with each day as a stage 4 colorectal cancer patient with multiple health issues just by being here. #colorectalcancer #yellowlab #milestheyellowlabpup
Crap, pushing a fever and heading to either the ER or the James - OSUCCC. This sucks. #colorectalcancer
Infusion day was too interesting today. Hemoglobin is dropping & I’ll be admitted to the James if it dips much more on Monday. Also, heart rate was running high & almost sent me to the ED, thankfully dropped when I got some fluids when my infusion started.

Are you 45 or older? Do you have a family history of colorectal cancer? Are you experiencing colorectal cancer symptoms? If you answered yes to any of those questions, speak with your doctor about getting screened.

Gave my 1st speech today in an all employee meeting for Gritstone Bio, a biotech company that creates new immunotherapies. I believe it’s extremely important to add the patient’s voice & point of view. Hopefully what I said today will stick with their employees. #colorectalcancer
Our little furry guy Miles turns 1 today. Where does the time go? This pup has meant so much to Deana & I over the last 8 months. We can’t eliminate all of the stress in our life, but Miles makes everything a little better. #colorectalcancer #yellowlab
My good friends Mark & Wayne drove to my home from different parts of the country to visit me this weekend, thankfully not in the hospital this time. We talked about our time at WVU in the 90’s, our kids, wives, jobs. Hope they know how much I appreciate it. Love those guys.
Made it through day one of immunotherapy clinical trial & things went relatively well. Wore my favorite infusion day shirt.
2) I wondered in the back of my mind if this would be our last slow dance. I don’t think many people are lucky enough to find their perfect partner/soul mate, but I was lucky enough to find the love of my life. The lesson is, just don’t take special times like that for granted.
