I’ve said multiple times that the $tsla cybertruck is a niche vehicle and that the original pricing was basically consumer fraud and unsupported by any internal cost and pricing analysis. He’s basically admitting that here. Does any state or federal agency give a single fuck?
At the $TSlA Shareholders Q&A, Musk said it will be very hard to make the lame-named CyberTruck affordable because of new manufacturing methods and costs associated with a completely new vehicle. Yet another sign he didn’t think this through when he unveiled it in 2019.

I’d understand $tsla launching a normal utility vehicle at an attractive price or a niche vehicle at a premium price, but I can’t figure out the business case for a niche vehicle at a relative mainstream price point.

I thought it was because $tsla described what appears to be a niche pickup rather than anything with broad appeal.

How many times did I say niche since launch? When does a regulatory agency care about false marketing (pricing)? xitter.cf/effle/status/119788329…

Then WTF didn’t they price it like a niche product? (Not that it will likely ever sell for the announced price)

If they’d have asked customers, they’d probably point out they are usually wearing gloves. This is a niche poser vehicle and not a work truck. It will be priced as such. We can all move on after it prices, and we see the true volume.

Depends a lot on pricing and insurance pricing, no? Still feels super niche to me, but 🤷‍♂️.

If it prices at $39,900 and sells more than the Hummer, I’ll never say another negative word about it. Niche vehicles are always widely hyped. I assume it’s coming out. Demand is price dependent, and I think $39,900 was an unsupportable lie just like early self driving claims.

Cybertruck is designed as a niche vehicle. It will need to be priced as a niche vehicle or never launched. There are many human factors reasons why the F150 Lightning will be on job sites instead of anything looking like a $tsla CT.

Cybertruck is niche. When you see pricing, you’ll see how niche.

Broadly speaking, inflation is likely hurting discretionary spending as a percentage of disposable as more dollars go to cover necessities of food energy and housing (and there are fewer cheap loans for higher ticket consumer goods). But I haven’t looked at enough data yet.

2 weeks ago Jeffries analyst raised her $GME price target from $15 to $175, now Jeffries is managing a $1 billion stock sale for $GME. This must be a coincidence, no analyst would be so dishonest as to pump a worthless stock just to generate broker fees, would they?
