What’s even the argument for moving arias? He looks like such a stud and is near mlb ready and they are desperate for long term SS
Feels Neto/Lopez is just giving up the upside/control/age that Arias provides for a little more certainty in the now which dont get
Sox have a lot of depth so only way to noticeably add wins is through high impact moves.
Essentially, either Bregman, (maybe) Alonso, and/or the high end relievers
Ha seong Kim would be a great fit
Elite defender at 2B, can slide to SS if need be. Swing would work well at Fenway
Buy low, no QO.
Bregman is a great player, would make team better, would probably have a few all start caliber years
My problem isn’t the player, more so the contract/depth of INF. Would be fun, but an inefficient use of resources imo
Yeah maybe I’m overthinking it but Bregman on a big deal seems short sighted
Hard to look at the redsox situation, flush w infielders, and think giving a declining 31 year old Bregman the bag to learn a new position, is responsible
Reeks of Hanley/Sandoval
I like Crochet a lot but it’s hard to process that the Sox could have just signed one of Fried/Burnes and kept both of Teel/Monty
Like, the imagine of getting outbid for Fried then turning to dump huge assets for Crochet is painful.
Think the crochet deal by itself is fine value, especially given I wasn’t super high on Teel
My issue is that they could have just paid Fried or Burnes and kept all those prospects
