This is really not okay: just 4 minutes!?! I hope this school I love realizes that it will lose more than its DEI office staff if this happens. Where are our leaders?

One of the worst parts about these attacks on diversity, equity, and inclusion programs is that it hurts ALL students. Those who’ve been on campus know that those of us who care about mentoring and DEI tend to be the ones that support and nurture many students on campus.

I have the great privilege of knowing many wonderful people in academia, but Krishna is absolutely one of the best! Doing cool science (with admittedly the best pictures), mentoring students with care, advocating for many... The department that snags him will be so lucky!
I'm very happy to have been selected as an #ISFS2023 Fellow alongside these other amazing scientists! Can't wait to hear about their work and share my research as well!!

The @UW is proving yet again that having a Fellowship (which brings in money!) is a PUNISHMENT. The reasoning that UW does not "have the resources to determine which Postdoc Fellows might be not be eligible" due to the terms of their fellowships is asinine and infuriating.
Please explain to me why getting a competitive fellowship is a punishment. @UW is increasing salary to $65,508 for all postdocs starting 1/1/2023 EXCEPT for the ones awarded with fellowships. And we are already losing all the retirement benefits for being a fellow.
