It's 2 years since I qualified as a tour guide and I've been leading walking tours in London since then. This week I received my first @tripadvisor Travellers' Choice Award! If you're interested in what I'm up to please sign up to my mailing list nigelsmithwalks.us17.list-ma…
On a flying visit to NI and meet my cousin on the plane. I pop into the @QFTBelfast to see a film on a whim. Of course I bump into one of my mum’s friends. What next? The taxi to the airport driven by my sister’s first boyfriend?
If I were Anna Taylor-Joy I would be mightily pissed off by this poster.
There can’t be many eponymous films where said character plays second fiddle in terms of prominence

Happy International Nurses Day! #IND2024
With more than 50 different nursing roles in the NHS, no two nursing careers are the same. Thank you to every nurse for the compassionate care you provide to patients and the public across the country. 💙

@nigelcsmith will host this brilliant homage to our predecessor, Acton Screen, a community cinema at the back of the now derelict bar.

Things are really grim for small businesses at the moment and tbh I’m feeling pretty rotten about it.
I would really appreciate it if you had a look at my gift shop and gave this tweet a like or RT.
Thank you, pals x

🧵 As of today, London, a city of nearly 9m ppl, with over 30m visitors each year, has only one full time opera house. Berlin a city of 3.5m ppl has 3 opera houses. Paris a city of 2.1m ppl has 3 opera houses - happy Easter @ace_national @E_N_O 💔…(1)

Horrible news...gives you zero hope that council housing will ever find its feet again, when such high profile examples are potentially up for sale for a quick buck.

Great to hear the wonderful Andrew Scott talking about theatre ticket prices this morning on BH, @bbcpaddy. Perhaps your reporter could have asked how affordable it was to see Uncle Vanya onstage…the answer was utterly unaffordable, which is why I’ll be seeing it in the cinema

Unknowingly bought a ticket for a captioned screening of American Fiction, so almost every time we heard the clever, dry Thelonious Monk-ish score, up came the subtitle: PERPLEXING MUSIC PLAYS

Time to say goodbye to #InsideNo9 having just wrapped series 9. This takes us to 55 episodes, a very decent innings. Mixed emotions but can’t wait to share what we’ve made.
