"There is broad agreement that instructional coaching is highly effective at improving teacher practice and, in turn, student outcomes."
-- 2022 Coaching Impact Report from TeachBoost
A recent New York Times article asserts that America's children are unwell, and wonders whether schools may be part of the problem. From A.D.H.D. to anxiety, disorders have risen as the expectations of childhood have changed.
What do you think?
This just appeared in today's NY Times, in fact: nytimes.com/2025/06/18/opini…
What do you think? Is it finally time to ban cell phones in school? At least 24 states plus the District of Columbia have passed laws or enacted policies that ban or restrict students' use of cellphones in schools.
Would love to hear your two cents!
Here's a resource for all my science teacher peeps to use whenever a student asks you, "Can I lick it?" 😆
Thinking about teachers this week and hoping all have a great year. Make that first day for students the best they’ve ever had.
Here's the direct link to Seth's blog page, we highly recommend it.

Before you celebrate this #MemorialDay weekend, be sure to also remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. We can never repay our debt, but we can choose to be thankful.

The 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰 theme is 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘁 𝘃𝘀. 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀. What can YOU do to help? 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 the amount of plastic you use, 𝗿𝗲𝘂𝘀𝗲 the plastic you’ve already got, and 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝘂𝘀𝗲 to use single-use plastics.
And millions of metric tons of plastic continue to enter the ocean every year, doing untold harm to the ecosystem – including our own food chain.
#DidYouKnow? More than 380 million tons of new plastic is produced annually, and less than 6% is recycled. Much of the plastic dropped into recycle bins doesn’t get recycled, either.
I’m so glad we do this for our students in North Carolina!

Real-world topics covered include personal budgeting, the importance of savings, the right way to use credit cards, managing debt, how to understand interest rates, and more.
#DidYouKnow? NC is one of only 9 states requiring 2024 graduates to take a personal finance class in high school.
To both Wolfpack basketball teams: keep fighting, keep believing, and keep DJ Burns’ attitude of “just having fun out there” (posted after the Duke win last night). Go Pack!
