Helen called amaXhosa in Cape Town “economic refugees”. Said colonialism wasn’t all bad. Labelled Simphiwe Dana a “professional black” which she defined as a perpetual victim of racism. Called Mmusi, Lindiwe et al. failed experiments. She is actively against BEE. She’s a Zionist.

The people of Cape Town better remember the price of rent, how long it takes to commute to work, how many communities we’ve lost to gang violence & gentrification and the money being spent on a wall instead of building a city that works for everyone. That’s the DA’s legacy!
Gonna clean my house, have a shower, put on my favourite PJs, make a steak dinner then relax and watch my comfort show.
You know how that’s possible? Because people voted in 1994!
So please don’t make me mad tomorrow 🫵🏾😑

Before you vote tomorrow, remember that the Concourt ruled that the DA perpetuates apartheid spatial planning in Cape Town

There’s really no rest in academia, if there’s no marking then there are research outputs, if not, you’re at a conference 😭

Khayelitsha, Cape Town:
A man found himself in a desperate situation when his sister was stabbed and urgently needed medical attention. After waiting for an ambulance that was taking too long to arrive, he decided to take matters into his own hands by stopping a minibus taxi and asking the driver to transport them to the entrance of a nearby public hospital.
Unfortunately, the man did not have any cash on him at the time. He explained his situation to the driver and assured him that he would withdraw the money and pay as soon as the medical staff had rushed his sister into the trauma unit.
However, the driver reportedly changed his mind and indicated that he would not continue the journey without receiving cash upfront. Despite the man's desperate pleas and even his offer to pay R1,000 for the trip, the driver refused to take them directly to the hospital and instead stopped at a nearby filling station.
With his sister still seriously injured and helpless inside the minibus, the man had no choice but to leave her there temporarily while he rushed to the nearest ATM to withdraw cash.
I felt this was an important incident to share, particularly at a time when several cities in South Africa are moving towards embracing a cashless economy.
Although banks and financial institutions have made significant progress in providing convenient digital payment solutions, including instant EFTs and other electronic payment methods, a considerable portion of our population still relies heavily on cash transactions.
The most heartbreaking aspect of this incident is that an urgent attempt to save a human life was delayed because of money.💔
I totally recommend leaving your house extra clean before a trip. I just got inside and it felt like a very clean hug 🥺the smell of bleach, my diffusers plus the fabric softener on my bedding and curtains 😮💨
I can never get used to how big the CPT airport is ✋🏾
Take me back to my Chief David Stuurman please 😭😭✋🏾
