Congratulations to @ClementDelangue 🤗 and the entire @huggingface team on the acquisition by @nvidia! I will never forget the day Clem did a full whiteboard session explaining the fundamentals of NLP to me at the original Hugging Face Dumbo office just so I could take it back to my brother for our grocery delivery chatbot idea LOL. Fast forward to 2021: when I launched Spice Capital, Clem was right there to support me. He stood as a founder reference, offered his time, wrote angel checks, and even floated sneaky acquisition offers to our portfolio companies 🌶️. When ChatGPT had its first viral moment, Clem reminded me of the importance of open source and how models would eventually become commodities. That prediction is coming true to a tee and gave us an informed edge for our AI investing framework at Spice Capital. What a fun journey. I feel so lucky to have had a front-row seat to watch a team achieve total excellence without ever sacrificing their core values 🤗 Attaching some fun photos - Clem and my mom at our annual family Diwali party in Florida, v1 screenshot of the OG hugging face app + my favorite merch combo!! Congrats to everyone 🫶

Today, we’re bringing ChatGPT closer to the systems, information, and workflows healthcare teams already rely on. ♥️ We’re introducing a new EHR integration to connect supported Epic environments to ChatGPT and a plugin connecting to nine additional industry data sources.

There is a child with a rare disease who is currently suffering and struggling to manage his symptoms. Rare as this is, you can directly help him. Today we are launching the "Rare Disease, Real Kid" Hackathon, and there are $50,000 in prizes from @AnthropicAI and @awscloud. We (@huggingface & @Sagebio) are helping this child open his genome and clinical data to the community, so that we can find what's caused his disease and what currently-approved drugs could help him. I doubt I need to motivate this much further or explain how rare it is for a family to share their child's genome and clinical data, but if you're not sure, consider this: Until very recently, it wasn't feasible for patients like this to get treatment because their disease was so rare that the economics could never justify the investment. Now, as we've seen, people with rare diseases are starting to be able to find the answers themselves (with the help of AI tools, cheaper sequencing, etc). This kid is not able to do that for himself and neither are his parents, so we're asking you for help. Both for this kid and to prove that it's possible for everyone else suffering from a rare disease. More details in 🧵. sagebio-rare-disease-real-ki…

they say maths has no real world application but this is great for when you are trapped in a maze and only have control over the temperature of the entrance and exit

people aren’t celebrating this pancreatic cancer breakthrough enough. it should be international news
One of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen: a standing ovation for the full Daraxonrasib results I feel inspired and energised, to put it mildly — we have a targeted therapy for pancreatic cancer now, and nothing is undruggable anymore

We are releasing Carbon: a crazy fast DNA model Carbon is 275x faster than the next best model. So fast you can process the whole human genome on a single GPU in <2 days. Here are the tricks we used: When modelling DNA sequences a lot of the performance comes down to tokenizing the sequences in a smart way. BPE tokenizer struggle because there are no whitespaces and character (called base in DNA) level tokenizers waste a lot of compute on too many tokens. Carbon is built with a unique tokenizer: we split sequences in chunks of 6 bases, but during both training and inference we can work with single base resolution. That's similar to having word tokens but resolving them at the character level. All possible thanks to the DNA tokens unique structure. The architecture combined with the tokenizer makes the model 275x faster than the previous SoTA (Evo2) at this size. We built an interactive demo so you can explore how the model can generate DNA sequences, investigate the structure of genes, predict the effect of mutations, generate and fold proteins and even reconstruct parts of the tree of life. huggingface.co/spaces/Huggin…

Huge news today at Isomorphic Labs! We have secured $2.1 Billion investment to advance the most important mission that AI can unlock: to change the way we can improve human health and create new medicines for patients around the world. This funding milestone was built on the strength of our AI drug design engine (IsoDDE), which has already proven its worth (aside from smashing benchmarks) by designing breakthrough new molecules and creating new scientific breakthroughs across our drug discovery programs. Our IsoDDE is giving us a repeatable way to design new medicines for a wide range of diseases, building a future of medicine that we couldn’t unlock until now. A massive thank you to our incredible team across London, Boston and Lausanne, whose relentless work made this possible, and to our partners who share our ultimate vision. Now we have so much more to build together!

Thanks to good people at @AnthropicAI we now have an official MCP for Excalidraw! Take it for a spin on @claudeai (search for Excalidraw in Connectors, or use in Claude Code and elsewhere). More to come. ✌
We are moving quickly. Thanks to Anton and the folks at @excalidraw , this is now the official Excalidraw MCP server. From weekend project to official server in less than a week.
