Today's Hindu has extensive centre page profiles of Abdul El-Sayed, Jon Ossoff and Nithya Raman. Do read. Young political leaders with ground level experience makes a lot of difference. Can something happen here? We all live on hope.

"The Shivamogga airport, inaugurated in 2023, has been built by spending 450-500 crores on about 700 acres. At the current price, the total investment would be 1000 crore."

Daughter's gone on a school tour to Pondicherry for a couple of days, and her doggie (soft toy) is sleeping on her bed, waiting for madam to return!

Arab parties winning 19 seats in Israel Parliament and becoming a potential kingmaker is unprecedented. Don't they have an EC that can conduct a SIR there?

"A movement that began in outrage has delivered remarkable election upset, showing that change is possible and prompting questions over what comes next. The election result in Serbia lays bare the power of protests to reshape politics. " theguardian.com/world/2026/o…

Bengaluru Metro Pink Line is ready but will open only when the PM is available for inauguration, probably mid-Nov. Some things never change. People struggle in traffic for years amidst project delays, but without the presence of political biggies, it can't be opened.

Netanyahu or someone else at the helm after the elections, I hardly think the genocidal republic of Israel will shed its bloodthirsty feathers.

On the day Lula made a stunning comeback to retain Brazil, this happened in Serbia.

Train ticket window for 24-Dec (Xmas eve) from Bangalore to Kerala opened yesterday. Within an hour or so, it moved into waiting list. Crazy rush and crowds on both roads and trains.

Lula triumph in Brazil is a significant moment politically, but the man is 81. Hope they have figured out a transition to the next generation otherwise this may not hold on for long.

The idea of travel is not to perceive new places through your tinted lens and look down at societies that do not align with your worldview. Instead, it should open your eyes to different cultures & broaden your perspective of the world. Don't be a frog in the well.

The quality of stories/lessons in the CBSE textbooks in language subjects (English/Hindi) is abysmal. How do you expect students to take interest in language and literature like this? As kids, we looked forward to the stories & read all of them the moment we got the books.

A North Indian acquaintance travelled from Mumbai to Sabarimala very recently. His pet grouse after the trip - too many Muslims seen in the state. I am too tired to engage with such inane observations, so did not respond. Just a sad state of affairs.

Running in Bangalore means being wary of aggressive dogs. You never know when they are provoked. Running in Palakkad last few days has been different. Dogs are lazing around or napping on the roads, in total nonchalance. Attitude is: Let sleeping dogs lie.
