Black arrow is when we delivered our Discover audit for this client. Loving these results.
Incredible work @erdoland @JordanMazzaTV 👏🏽
I'm going to toot my team's horn for a second. Two weeks ago, we recommended this topic to our client as having "strong Discover potential." They ran with it and wrote an article. I'd say the article worked out well. (This is a single post on Discover over the course of a week.)
At some point we need to have a serious discussion about (non-wire) syndication and ALL THE THINGS associated with it's impact on search engines. (I'm not talking about AP and Reuters.) Today is not that day, but that day is coming.
The "we" are @lilyraynyc @JordanMazzaTV @bellaruiz_ and myself. And we had such an incredible experience working on this audit and with this Discover client. Doing this kind of work is why I love my job and my team at @amsiveagency

The demise of Web Stories begins. And it makes complete sense. The latest update from Google is that Web Stories do not show in Discover in a Stories carousel anymore. And Stories will NOT show in Google images anymore. Also, I think grid view for Web Stories in Search is not a thing anymore. See the update below, and then screenshots of the old description and new.
"In the Discover feed, Web Stories can appear as a single card where you can tap through the story. While this appearance is available in all regions and languages where Google Discover is available, it's most likely to appear in the United States, India, and Brazil." developers.google.com/search…
This. This right here. This is NOT okay. Unless they move the stained green carpet, whatever grease and frying equipment that makes the "light" taco shells, and the weird People magazines from the 1990s, a piece of my history will be gone forever.
A Topeka staple is moving a few blocks down.

Is anyone else worried that Google's purge of indexed videos is going to start happening to other "non-primary" assets? Can't decide if I'm being Chicken Little or if this is what we will see more of in 2024.
As best as I can tell, Google Discover has gone off the rails. @lilyraynyc worked tirelessly over the weekend to get a handle on the situation. If you work for or with digital publishers, read this now: amsive.com/insights/seo/traf…

A decade ago, the incredible @ashadornfest gave me a Leatherman micra. I have been so diligent all this time to remember to remove it from my keychain when I fly ... until last night. So now I have to stalk the airport confiscated items sale to get it back 😭

Eager to see which sites are an increase in Discover traffic over the next few days.
We found a bug with how our Oct. 2023 core update was applied to Discover, which has now been corrected. Some sites may see an increase in Discover-related traffic, as a result. Start and end time for this issue is now on the Search Status Dashboard: status.search.google.com/inc…

Honored to be recognized with two @seland wins in 2023: @erdoland named Search Marketer of the Year, and Best Local SEO Initiative for our work with American Savings Bank. These achievements are all about the power of knowledge sharing and teamwork: bit.ly/3QIbR6g
If you're ever in Wilmington, NC, make time for a @wilmingtoNColor tour. Possibly the best history tour I've ever done.
I'm speechless. Still processing this. Thank you @sengineland! And thank you @amsiveagency for the initial nomination and your support!! Gah!
