If (when?) the Dems take full control of Congress, @SenWarren will become even more influential than she already is. Her understanding of economics, regulation, and commerce is vibe-based and wrong in almost every particular.
In 1986, the US had 25,000 malls. In 2023, it had just 1,200. @ewarren says private equity caused bankruptcies of mall-based businesses like @claires. Despite shocking economic ignorance, @SenWarren will be even more powerful after the midterms. reason.com/2026/10/19/be-pre…

1. The government creates a problem.
2. The government creates fear resulting from the problem.
3. The government demands more power to fix the problem they created.
4. The government never returns the power.
Fin.

Government cannot solve problems because, a majority of the time, it is the problem.

The campaigns & offices of Talarico, Mitch McConnell, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, etc show 💯 that there is no one in the driver’s seat yet people continue to believe that there is no deep state.
Warm bodies are all that are required to hold office here.

Total gov't spending in 2019: $4.4 trillion.
Total gov't spending in 2025: $7 TRILLION.
Here's the kicker: the U.S. government collected $5.23 trillion in 2025.
Literally all we have to do is go back to pre-COVID levels of spending and the government would be in a surplus.

An economic layup would be returning to pre-COVID spending levels.
I’d go further but it’s common sense

This AI industrial racket is out of control. It's identical to the 1902 Biologics Control Act. Top pharmaceutical makers sounded the alarm about poisons being distributed everywhere. They begged Washington to intervene to stop the disaster. Politicians complied and codified the industry with incumbents in control while declaring their products as safe and effective. Same old scam. brownstone.org/articles/how-…

ATTENTION EVERYONE; Harris County Commissioners said a 7.6% tax hike is your only option. Their own 128-page budget says otherwise.
I spent 100+ hours going through everything. What I found:
• $93.4M sitting unspent by the 5 of them right now (p.72) — added to the budget AFTER public comment ends
• Their own $25M hiring freeze got cut to $5M this year (p.74)
• 13 officials getting raises to $305K (p.101)
•Their own budget says 80/20 healthcare cost-share is standard — they still cover 90%+ (p.16)
This is a deficit of choice, not necessity. Stop blaming Trump. Look at page 72.

This is completely untrue. CEOs ask to be regulated all the time, typically in order to solidify an advantage. To take just one prominent example, Facebook repeatedly came out in support of regulations on social media… regulations that would hurt their competitors.
I've served in two White Houses and in Congressional leadership, and I can tell you when the last time a CEO or an industry at large asked to be regulated: never. That's what makes Dario's letter so striking — it's an admission that we're driving down a dark, winding road on wet pavement with the headlights off. And where's President Trump? Looks like he nodded off again. It’s time to turn the lights on, put both hands on the wheel, and regain control before it’s too late.

Industries and CEOs have often asked to be regulated. Examples include 19th century railroads, Allstate in 2009, hedge funds and tech companies. washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/305871… fee.org/articles/we-wa… nationalreview.com/corner/be-wary…
