The level of welfare fraud in Canada is absolutely unimaginable because different programs and ministries do not communicate whatsoever. Moreover, the culture is such that the boots on the ground turn a blind eye. There are ineligible rapists collecting OW during their sentence

Limitless wealth. Levels of prosperity not presently conceivable. 50 billion Anglo-Saxons spread across the cosmos. The future is ours if we want it badly enough.

I wish the right wing could show even 1% of the animosity and determination the Left feels when the most bland and wishy washy conservative parties in the country win.
British Columbia Green Party leader Emily Lowan declares, “We are the only party who is equipped to stand against the Conservatives and their existence.” Following the Conservatives’ majority victory, Lowan says she is “scared” of the incoming government and vows to fight it “in the legislature” and “in the streets.” Follow: @AFpost

forgive me for the local politicspost, but Emily Lowan's talents are totally wasted on the provincial Green Party. She should be mushroom foraging, building chicken coops, and believing wifi gives you cancer as the matriarch of a doomed permaculture commune in the gulf islands

A left of right of left of centre party wins an election (meaning they have nominal jurisdiction over schools, hospitals, roads, and provincial parks) and the aposematics react like the Blackshirts just marched on Rome. This is why there's not much point in hiding your power level. "Oh I'll just pretend to be a normiecon in public." They'll still think you're a Nazi. They don't distinguish between ¡Jeb! and Goebbels. Anyone who is not for The Revolution is against it, and a class enemy.

Wildwood was the same studio as Coraline so I'm sure it's good, but the only advertising I ever saw for it was in theatres for a different movie, and it didn't excite me or make me interested in the film.
I don't EVER want to see people complaining about no original animated films because you DO NOT SHOW UP

This whole "there is no core Canadian identity" is a false propaganda narrative designed to poison the well of Canadian nationalism
We should be counting the number of actual Canadians, which is probably somewhere around 22 to 25 million. As far as a unified national identity goes, I think our failure to develop one has been a hindrance to our sovereignty and posterity. For too many people, the very idea of a Canadian nation is just a loose collection of territories LARPing as their own countries. This was also contrary to the ambitions of Sir John A. Macdonald and the Fathers of Confederation. The Industrial Revolution and our growing mastery over the natural world made Canada possible in the first place. The railway connected the country, followed by the personal automobile and eventually passenger aviation. But it’s 2026, not 1866, and the world has grown considerably smaller. The major powers can now export their cultures directly into our homes, eroding our own cultural indigeneity, while mass immigration made possible by commercial aviation threatens our demographic continuity. Suddenly, India and China aren’t so far away. Even within Canada, travelling from Montréal to Toronto no longer takes four to six days by horse and carriage, assuming the weather cooperates. To a certain extent, this process has already happened through the consolidation of Canadian media and the dominance of national broadcasters like the CBC, CTV and Global, alongside Canadian films, television shows, cartoons and sports, particularly hockey. Two Canadians growing up on opposite ends of the country, one in Halifax and the other in Vancouver, can share the same cultural references, they share roughly one of the most recognizably homogenous accents in the world, recognize the same institutions and develop an understanding of themselves as belonging to the same nation. The internet has reduced genuine cultural differences and regionalisms further. It’s time to abandon the last pretences of provincialism and the parochial attitudes that have survived alongside it. The Québec City to Windsor corridor should finally develop into the national core it was always meant to be, much as London, Washington, Paris and Berlin became the political, economic and cultural centres of their respective countries. Our urban, industrialized and now managerial heartland should assert its natural primacy over the provincial, regional and parochial interests that have obstructed national unity for generations. With modern mass media, the internet, telecommunications, the prospect of high speed rail, and restoring east-west trade over north-south, we have every means available to consolidate a genuinely unified Canadian nation around its historic heartland, project it across the continent, and to the entire world. My instincts have always been to scale up and to centralize. I have never pretended to be anything other than what I am: a Montrealer, an Anglo-Quebecer, a Laurentian, a techno-optimist and a cosmopolitan.

On this day, Alexander Dunn of York, Ontario became the first Canadian to win the Victoria Cross for saving two of his fellow soldiers during the famous Charge of the Light Brigade. In 1866 he was made Colonel of the 33rd Regiment, at the time the youngest Colonel in the Empire.

The first Dominion Day (Canada Day) celebration, as such, wasn’t celebrated in Ontario or Quebec, but in fact was celebrated in Barkerville, BC, in 1868, then only a Crown Colony. It took place during a heated debate as to whether British Columbia should join the “New Dominion,”
