A nice story about my mom in today’s @freep written by @SloneTerranella

BAM! 💥 Tough break today for an Arizona Cardinals social media photographer who got blasted by Bam Knight destroying his @Sony A7 and 70-200 lens. Props as he was back out on field minutes later with a backup camera 💪 #photogproblems

Moms Spaghetti Sandwhich review:
Oh my god that BREAD!
Pasta was good, proper sauce coverage, and the garlic was perfect, not overwhelming not hidden.
That bread was amazing! Soft and tasted very fresh.
17.99 I would do it again.
Any @Lions fans at the game? If you buy @Eminem's S’ghetti Sandwich at @fordfield let me know how was? 🍝
Looks like something I'd make at home for a snack after high school & before dinner, slapping my "mom's spaghetti" on it w/ 2 slices of toasted bread 😄

A decade ago, I interviewed Abdul El-Sayed for a story I wrote about boxer Muhammad Ali after he died, how he impacted Muslim-Americans. El-Sayed traveled to Kentucky for his funeral.
"I've never been so emotional about the passing of an icon or celebrity. No icon whose life with which mine overlapped has done more to empower me," El-Sayed told me. "He was my mind's answer to all the times I was told 'You can't because ... ' Here was this Muslim minority — a guy who looked different and had a weird name — who had the rare combination of a remarkable set of skills and the sheer grit and courage to believe both in himself and in a set of values to which he held unshakably, regardless the consequences." freep.com/story/news/obituar…
Caught you, ya thief!
First time seeing one of our cats, Bailey, eating dog food out of Baxter bowl this afternoon. So weird!
Bailey and Bash get dry food in the morning, wet food in the evening, maybe she’s expanding her food palate? 🤷🏾
⏰ On Sunday wind the clocks back 1 hour. For Bob Stewart, 71, of The Clock Specialist in Royal Oak, winding clocks is what he does daily, 6 days a week in his small repair shop.
He's been repairing clocks for over 50 years... 🧵1/3

He works alone, only sounds of military reruns like J.A.G. on his TV & the sounds many clocks make on the hour each hour. The walls & aisles are filled w/ clocks from the grandfather kind to well known cuckoo clocks & others. 2/3 🧵

As generations get older & younger people not into the classic clocks like he repairs, it’s a business that is becoming a lost art. 3/3 🧵

Phone call from a journalist visiting Michigan to do some reporting:
"What is a 'party store'?"
Sign of the Beefcarver fans stand in line outside & wrapped around the back of the restaurant on Woodward in Royal Oak on Tues, Oct. 20, ‘26.
They’re closing on October 25th after 70 years of business to eat there one more time.
