My job is the best: connecting books and readers. I have an affinity for genre fiction. I'm not a hater, and I never walk away from a good fight.

In the Holiday issue of Games World of Puzzles, Ray Simon wrote about “Playing Games,” a recent anthology of short stories loosely revolving around games and crime. As he put it, “from the contributors’ point of view, Monopoly is more likely to lead to mayhem than merriment.”

Feel very lucky to have spoken to the legendary @JamesLeeBurke for #ExpressFeatures to mark his #DiamondDagger from the @The_CWA. He is one of our greatest living novelists in any genre, IMHO. His 24th Dave Robicheaux book, Clete, is out now via @orion_crime. And it's brilliant.

.@HMcEntee As an Irish expat, I am sickened and disgusted by the actions of Tom O’Donnell. Guess I can’t ever go home to visit and feel safe. And I live in Florida, FFS.
I'm not always a big fan of lists (they can feel so judgey), but Amazon's Best of the Year So Far has some excellent entries, including @mjkoryta's LOST MAN'S LANE, @JamesLeeBurke's CLETE, @SteveCavanagh_ 's KILL FOR ME, KILL FOR YOU, @amytintera's LISTEN FOR THE LIE (1/2)
(2/2) @chrissiemanby's THE EXCITEMENTS, @DervlaMcTiernan's WHAT HAPPENED TO NINA, Brian Panowich's NOTHING BUT THE BONES, and Sarah Reida's NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH.

If you had told me when I started reading James Lee Burke’s books in the late 1980s that one day I would be on the phone with him when he won an Edgar Award for Best Novel, I never would have believed it. Sometimes dreams you wouldn’t dare to dream really do come true.
Congratulations to @JamesLeeBurke winner of BEST NOVEL for Flags on the Bayou (@groveatlantic) #Edgars2024
