For the love of god, politically interested people, when your friends and family ask what can be done about the Supreme Court, don't say "nothing."
There are, moldering away in the Constitution, ways to check the court's power that every American needs to become familiar with.🧵

Roe v. Wade is based on the 'right to privacy.' If the majority opinion by SCOTUS suggests that the constitution does not protect the right to privacy... that affects a WHOLE lot of other decisions. Buckle up - this is the beginning of a lot of potential ugliness.

UPDATE: Both Germany and Poland have banned RT, but @YouTube is not only hosting and streaming it to over 5 Million subscribers, they are monetizing it with ads and *recommending* it across the platform.
This is shameful irresponsibility by CEO @SusanWojcicki.
YouTube’s AI recommendations promoted Putin’s channel Russia Today more than 100,000,000,000 times. I worked on these recos.
The AI community can tell @SusanWojcicki to stop using our work to actively promote dictators

Iron away the technicalities, and it boils down to this: In any given chaotic situation, everyone who is making each other scared for their lives is allowed to kill each other. There is no murder in a state of mortal fear. Which bodes poorly for a nation terrified of each other.
We’ve got a scene where Person A blows someone’s head off. Person B is not psychic and is in the same chaotic situation that resulted in A feeling the need to shoot someone in the head.
Person B may think he’s the “good guy with a gun” trying to stop more killing…
…but that’s not going to be how A sees it. He sees another gun pointed at him and, thinking that HE’s the good guy with the gun, shoots B too.
This is an impossible legal scenario now. Who’s self defense is valid?
