really enjoying this book so far. has so many neat and interesting anecdotes from the early days of disney...
...ignoring the protests of their coworkers, they just kept studying the moving fire and the surface,
until their coworkers ended up heroically putting out the fire...

chalice, drawn by Paolo Uccello like 500 years ago. but it blows my mind how it looks like taken from a modern 3D CAD software, despite being 500 years old lol.

I needed to make a small desktop application for my own use, and thanks to Dear ImGui, I got it all working from ground up in only like 1-2 hours lol. praise be to Dear ImgGui 🙌

Shader within a tweet: HLSL vertex shader rendering fullscreen triangle without need for a vertex buffer:
float4 main(uint vertexID : SV_VertexID) : SV_Position
{
return float4(vertexID == 1 ? 3 : -1, vertexID == 2 ? 3 : -1, 0.5, 1);

Replying to @VulkanAPI
@VulkanAPI experts here?
I'm quite confused by the the fact, that if I specify my swapchain extents that are beyond what my surface capabilities report, vkCreateSwapchainKHR still returns success, even though validation says this is not okay.
But why? 🤔

This month it is 20 years since I stopped using singletons (as in the Singleton pattern) anywhere in my code.
Instead I do something like this struct and initialize it in main(). Then I pass it around as a pointer.
