The issue of voter apathy cannot arise. The agenda is a single candidate to remove the seating President. It’s not about the popularity of the proposed candidate. The aim is one. Removal of the current president
If the opposition chooses to give the presidential ticket to Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, I see one major problem ahead. Voter apathy. Even me I cannot wake up to go and vote for a guy who has been in leadership position many years before I was born.
For those new to the idea, voter apathy means a lack of interest or enthusiasm among eligible voters to take part in an election. These are people who are registered to vote but decide not to get up and cast their ballots.
Kalonzo is, for many young voters, simply uninspiring. That could be a serious political setback in 2027.
People do not want to wake up early, stand in line for hours, and vote for Kalonzo Musyoka. They want a new face on the ballot. So far the name that seems to be connecting with some of them is Edwin Watenya Sifuna.
Politics is about numbers, but it is also about excitement, energy, and the ability to make people feel that their vote matters.
You can have the best political machinery in the country, but if the people who are supposed to turn up on election day stay at home, the result will be clear.
Then there is Ndindi Nyoro. I have serious doubts about his political consistency. His apparent indecision and his absence during crucial parliamentary votes, including the impeachment of Rigathi Gachagua and the latest Finance Bill debate, raise questions about where he truly stands when the pressure is on.
People who sit on the fence are dangerous in politics. When the storm comes, you need to know who will stand with you and who will be looking for the safest place.
I would not put my political trust in someone whose position appears to shift when the wind changes.
Even the Bible has a word for this kind of politics. In Revelation 3:16, Jesus says of the lukewarm, “So because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I am about to spit you out of my mouth.”
Those are strong words.
Ultimately, the opposition needs more than a name that can unite politicians. It needs a candidate who can move the needle, excite young voters, and get people out of their houses on election day.
Because when it comes to elections, you can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink.
And in 2027, the opposition cannot afford to nominate a candidate who leaves millions of voters asking, “Why should I bother waking up to vote?”
That is how voter apathy becomes the opposition’s Achilles’ heel.
This post demonstrates need to create a more robust and integrated system to curb illegal developments. It should not be easy to scam public authorities and take advantage of unsuspecting members of the public to believe a project has the necessary approvals.
I have seen some people peddling a fake approval document alleging that the Eastleigh development was approved. It is telling that this is the same document that the Eastleigh developer used to get NCA approval. They allege that the development was approved in January of 2024. This is not true.
The application for development as shown below was made in November of 2024, it could not have been approved in February of the same year. Also, there is a difference between a change of user approval and a development approval.
The developer applied for change of use from residential to residential & commercial in August of 2024. Change of user was approved in October of 2024.
Development approval has never been granted. The developer went on to build with impunity and without building approvals despite enforcement action by the county and arrests.

Bunge is insufferable.
Sec 39(1G) was already declared invalid in 2018 because it subordinated live-streamed results to manually transmitted ones - Katiba case Para 98
How could it retain an invalid provision? What was needed was amendment that gives primacy to live-streaming.
There is something fundamentally wrong with our built environment. From approval, inspection and certification. Several tragedies and zero lessons learnt. Tough statements but no tangible long term solutions. Greed and insane profit margins have clouded public safety considerations. Unfortunately it appears that the lives of citizens don’t matter

Did State Corporations buy shares in Kenya Pipeline IPO to hold them for Aliko Dangote? If this is proven directly or through circumstantial evidence, it will violate every applicable provision of the Constitution, Statutes & established law. State institutions cannot be proxies for individuals. As over Kshs. 42B of public money was involved, Kenyans deserve the whole truth. In the US, the judicial system has developed the law called “facading”, where companies & its Directors are held criminally liable for financial engineering & manipulating the capital markets.
Same script as the Safaricom shares. Acquisition just before dividends are paid. Why would public entities buy shares and sale to undisclosed investors just before they earn dividends from the initial investment? Utter misuse of public resources
We got a few details from President Ruto on Monday’s Kenya Pipeline KES 42.5B mysterious block transaction:
—He confirmed that private investors acquired a 25% stake in Kenya Pipeline Company from public entities, describing the transaction as part of efforts to mobilise private capital for strategic infrastructure.
—We still do not know the identities of the buyers or the selling public entities.
Capital Markets regulations world over are intended at transparency and disclosure. You have to ask yourself some questions over this transaction. Who buys shares and sells before making a gain on investment? Who is able to buy shares of such value?
$KPC Kenya Pipeline Company Block Trade on October 19th, 2026
— 4.5B shares worth KES 42.5B changed hands through the NSE Block Board, equivalent to ~25% of KPC's total issued shares.
— KPC accounted for 99.62% of NSE equity turnover, which reached KES 42.7B, compared to KES 512.5M in the previous session.
— Total NSE trading volume reached 4.55B shares, compared to 10.3M shares previously.
— Foreign purchases and sales in KPC were both recorded at 0.0%, indicating a domestic transaction.
— KPC closed at KES 9.02, up 0.22%.
— The identities of the buyer and seller have not been disclosed.
Our President surprises even his friends. It’s difficult to know when he’s head of government and when he’s an aspiring candidate. Speaks from both sides of the mouth. When objections were raised on phone taxes. He supported & instructed his parliamentary minions to approve. And now he’s looking for votes, it’s suddenly politically convenient to discredit his own tax initiatives
The occasion was always going to be used for gaining political mileage. It’s obvious that those who felt they couldn’t do so would arrange to have the occasion marred. What is at stake is not the legacy of Baba but whether it will be carried forward. From what we witnessed his dreams live on.
Ida Odinga: Reports that individuals may have been paid and transported to the gathering (Raila’s first memorial) for the purpose of heckling, intimidating or disrupting invited guests are deeply disturbing. Such actions represent a grave disrespect not only to our family, but also to Raila's memory and to the thousands who came in peace.
Interesting economics. Sell ‘strategic ‘ public institutions that bring in value and good dividends. Use fund to buy government bonds to earn dividends. Continue to misuse government funds leading to increased government borrowing from domestic market. Then misuse funds in infrastructure fund on questionable investments so that instead of spending on infrastructure projects that build value for future generations, the fund is making easy money available for government misappropriation

2. Kenya’s National Infrastructure Fund has begun deploying its KES 340B seed capital into domestic government bonds, with the full amount expected to be invested by June 2027 and generate ~KES 42B annually.
The fund is targeting KES 3.6T over the next decade for infrastructure investment, including a planned stake in Dangote’s Lamu refinery.

The widow of the late human rights lawyer Juma Kiplenge, Jedida, leads family members in presenting his personal library to the Law Society of Kenya, Nakuru Chapter, at the Nakuru Law Courts, four years after his death. The collection, which includes legal texts, statutes, biographies, literature, and other books that remained at his residence since October 2022, will now be kept at the Advocates’ Lounge in the new Nakuru Law Courts Building for use by advocates and members of the Judiciary. The family donated the books to honour Kiplenge’s legacy.

Especially with this regime
The President cannot constitutionally make roadside declarations and commit use of public funds even if it is for a good cause. Increasingly the President is behaving as if he can give directives on everything. A dangerous trend of misleading information and misuse of public money
In a historic first, President @WilliamsRuto extends compensation to the scores of victims of the River Yala gruesome killings and reaffirms the state’s commitment for justice for those with claims of unlawful disappearances. Let justice flow down like a torrent from the mountains @compensationke

The reason Ruto speaks confidently in rallies telling us to use “formal channels “ to get documents held by the state is he knows his gatekeepers in Parliament will never approve this business to make it to the floor. This one on the Lamu Refinery has suffered the same fate. We must uproot this entire system in 2027 to rescue our country.
MAJOR BREAKING: Millionaire tycoon Wicknell Chivayo has died after a helicopter crash in Marondera. His wife Lucy Muteke among the 6 victims. There were no survivors.
A police statement said: “The ZRP confirms a plane crash in Marondera Rural area at 1700 hours. The aircraft had 6 occupants.”
This is kind of press discussion is totally unprofessional. Once you cease representing a client anything and everything you discussed is under client privilege. The Advocates should just walk away. There is no need to justify their actions to the gallery
Any idea why the audience has to keep nodding their heads?? Ama hiyo ndio showing moral support!!!
