#RightToFood Today marks the end of the #HealthyStart paper voucher scheme - last year our poorest families missed out on £70million to spend of healthy food. We must not stay quiet about this @UKSustain @Food_Foundation @sajidjavid @IanByrneMP @DavefcKelly @churchpoverty
Kicking this off very soon. Looking forward to discussions around engagement and data science! Stay tuned for some highlights ;)

After three short presentations, we will shift to a roundtable format to discuss:
> motivations of engagement
> barriers of engagement; and
> how we may engage effectively.
This is open to anyone and especially PGRs and ECRs who have undertook or are considering including participatory and engagement methods alongside more traditional data science projects. Come to share and learn! This is part of @NWSSDTP #methodsx initiative @MethodsNW

Such essential framing for both research and practice! This is one of the core underpinnings of our work modelling the food environment. It helps us think more widely about access inequalities, too. @moflaher @markalangreen
We use this phase ‘food access’ a lot in our work @feedinglpool @goodfoodlpool - this slide from @etc_ellen really helpfully summarises some of what we mean by it! #GoodFoodLiverpool

My seven year old daughter heard me talking about the research I've been doing on food banks. She asked what food banks are & I explained that some people struggle to afford food. She said "well why don't they just have a money bank & give them money instead?". It's a fair point.
