Deputies responded but could not locate her. About an hour later, a second call reported she pointed a gun at a man and his dog at his house; they were unable to locate her again. The next day, officers located Duncan after another report that she pointed a gun at a man. She walked several blocks, refusing repeated commands to stop, show her hands, and stop reaching into her bag. After she fired at them and struck the patrol vehicle's driver's side door, three deputies returned fire, fatally striking her.
