We wanted to find out what ALPK3 does and why it might cause disease.
We fluorescently labeled ALPK3 in human pluripotent stem cells and saw ALPK3 in the M-Band in heart cell sarcomeres (GIF), rather than the nucleus as has been suggested.
Maybe a link to sarcomeric HCM?

After the year we've all had, I'm sure many of us were looking forward to bidding farewell to 2020 tonight with family and friends.
Maybe even getting on the beers.
But the virus doesn't respect the fact that it's New Year's Eve.

Great to have been a collaborator on Gerd Blobel's @blobelgroup Molecular Cell paper. It shows that ZNF410 regulates just one single human gene, CHD4 which represses fetal globin. Reactivating fetal globin would cure #sicklecelldisease authors.elsevier.com/a/1cD2-…
